I have made my final decision: I will buy a Prius c Four, with 15" wheels, and, if they have it at the dealership, the extra safety system. I want the darker blue. I am so excited! I am also very happy about being able to discuss the ownership experience with you all, who have much more knowledge than I do. I think these forums are great!
Welcome to the Prius C Club!! About how much did you purchase your 4 for? My 2015 C3 was around 23k !!
Just a thought, if you want a specific color and features, and you don't know what the dealer has, be prepared. They may not even have the 4. In sales it is the rarest trim, followed by the 3. Wh wait two weeks, when you can shop for it now? Go to the dealer's internet department online. They tend to quote the lowest price and you can find out what they have. And cars do get sold.
I bought my 2014 Prius c Four for $15,400....I received an internet discount and just love my little car....I searched high and low for just the right Prius c....so happy I have a moonroof
Personally, I would recommend that you go for the 3. There isn't too much difference between trim level 3 and trim level 4. Even so, there are significant price difference. Things like the softex seats can be made up for with products such as clazzio seat covers with aftermarket install seat heaters. As for getting a good price, I was able to get a really good price at my dealership by coming to them with an expected car note payment. I told them about my job that requires me to drive a significant amount for work and my previous gas bills. I then told them that I was only purchasing the car because I wanted to save money in the long run. I informed them that nothing was wrong with my trade in car but rather my decision was based purely on the fact that I could save money. Therefore, they knew that if they didn't offer me my expected car note payment, there was no reason for me to make the purchase. I ended up getting a 2012 used Prius with 30000 miles. It has only one prior owner who was a lease holder. I put down $2,500 down payment with a trade in that they gave me far above market value for despite the accident suffered. In the end, I had a car note payment of $159 a month for 5 years at 1.9% APR. I credit my negotiation tactic which told them that they had to give me 160 per month to meet my needs for a car note. I would recommend that you purchase the warranty if you buy it used. It's not that it's a bad car but my warranty only came out to an extra 20 bucks a month. So far, I have used it to fix a squeaking frame within the seat that would have cost me $750 to get repaired. Not a bad investment for a $1,320 warranty policy. If you have questions, please let me know. I'd be happy to provide any further insight that can help you get a good deal
Be careful of that tactic. A dealer will just push you into a loan for a longer term to keep your payments at the dollar figure you quote. I've seen 72 month loans recently and at that long a term, the car may well need to be replaced and you'll still own more than it's worth. Be cognizant of both dollars being financed, payment and term when you are negotiating price. And don't forget the dealers "administration", tax, insurance and licensing fees.
A good point. Fortunately, we were able to work in all the fees in the car note payment on a 60 month term. The $2500 down payment helped a great deal there.
I finally got my pink slip and registration over two months in coming....sad when you buy a car and pay it off on the spot and have to wait two months for the pink slip....just saying
I went with the 2015 prius C 2 brand new for 18.1 ...i really don't need the navigation because i have a really nice Garmin...i definitely needed the cruise control because the wife and I take extremely long road trips from Texas to Florida about 5 times a year... The car has been amazing...I'm actually at the dealership getting my 10k service right now. The gas mileage is absolutely incredible. SAMSUNG-SM-G870A ?
I actually had 5k negative equity rolling over Into my new prius car loan....the total loan ended up being 24k but we did get 2.9 percent interest rate because my wife's credit wasn't exactly great....i would only do this with a Toyota because of how sure I am about toyotas reliability.I *hope* I can get this car to 200k Miles without any huge major malfunction. SAMSUNG-SM-G870A ?
There was one guy on here who was a whole sale car dealer who's 2012 Prius C already hit 250k miles...i wonder how many it has now and how it has been holding up SAMSUNG-SM-G870A ?
