I also did, but I had to use a fake ZIP code. I am sorry for that.

Went to the only Prius selling Costco participating member in the Chicago western suburbs today and asked if the Prime might be on their availability list (with Costco) and they knew less than nothing about the Prime, or if it would be included in that program. Not encouraging. But it is still a little early in the game.

I contacted my local dealer the day after the Prime debuted at NY and they had no idea what I was talking about...I waited another day and got someone who had heard (or more likely googled) about the Prime. I was told to wait a few days for more info and finally I was able to put down $1000 as a deposit and I'll have one of the first to hit the dealership. I was told that they are only bringing 25 to Canada?

That isn't a lot. 10 to Ontario, 10 to Quebec, 5 to B.C.? Unless he's talking about the first shipment and not the first year.

I would think more to BC than to Quebec...but who knows. He didn't specify if it was for the first year or shipment? I won't get more details about pricing, options, etc. from the dealer until late summer...but i'll probably get more details from this site way before then!

I guess. B.C.'s rebate is higher for the plug-in at $2,500 vs. $500 (unless the Prime bumps it to the $4,000 category in Quebec). Quebec also offers up to $600 for a home EVSE.

Was in the dealer* today for some GenIII service. Salesman walked up and we had a conversation about the Prime. He seemed to think they might get two cars per year. Two. I informed him that Toyota had somewhat bigger plans for the version II. He still thought they'd really never order any or sell any. Probably a case of the salesman not knowing much or not wanting to. Hopefully, he was talking out his butt. Not that I expected any better answers from anyone this early. Sure isn't reassuring though. Deals won't be happening. Costco pricing won't be happening - around here.

If this scenario is true, with dealers in the Chi area not receiving allocations (much) or refusing them, then I will probably wait to hear from Dianne about her hundreds of cars in some future forum post. Not ruling out a trip to California to pick up a new car and taking in some slow scenery on the way back.

i had the same problem with the pip. dealers are an obstacle to alt fuel vehicles. that's why tesla has the right idea. for old line mfg.'s, it's a bigger problem.

Spoke with a dealer out here in Southern California, he was aware of the Prime, took my name as interested. Said there wasn't a need for a deposit at this point (I've purchased two vehicles from him), he'd get in touch when they heard more.

Bingo! That's when Toyota got it right. They had a web site to get the Prius Plug-In. After a Chevy dealer quoted me $4,000 above MSRP for a Volt, I went home and ordered the PiP right off the website and named the dealer where I wanted to pick it up. A young guy finished the deal when it arrived in April 2012 and fortunately he seemed as excited about it as I did.

I agree D, the order process on the original was a good experience. Did it thru Dianne here and it was a solid experience.

With my experiences from the 7 or 8 salespeople at the four Toyota dealers I've been to recently, I would implore Toyota to duplicate the same online ordering all over again for the Prime. I don't expect special treatment or a big truck-like discount, but I don't want to be ignored as a prospective customer either. Take those salespeople out of the equation, and I'm ready to make my selection and plunk down real money.

I also wonder how many of those orders were people hoping to flip their spot in line... there's a lot of madness and panic buying when a new model first comes out. I remember when the BMW X5 first came out - the first month or two people were flipping them on ebay for 2x the msrp.

I doubt flippers are going to make anything on the model 3, though.

I just went to the dealership today and sent a build sheet to order one. My salesman called and said they could do as of this morning.

Has anybody gotten anything from this? I signed up back in April and not one word has been sent to me.

Yep got a couple of emails, one just after I signed up and one in May as a Prius Plug-in driver. Nothing else.

In Cleveland, OH in November, 2016 put a deposit on a Prius Prime. December 30, 2016 heard from dealer salesperson that Toyota has
begun production and some months out we'll get the car. No build date yet. Also was told that the advance orders have exhausted the foreseeable supply. As a result, dealers are no longer taking orders for the Prime. No details. Consult your dealer for more information.
