Is the C designed only to wash the front windshield by turning the back windshields wiper? Mine works like this: I turn it and it sprays water on the front and back windshields but only the back windshield wiper moves The front doesnt at all but water comes out? Then, like most cars, when its pulled inward, no water comes out at all. This is normal??
hey how are you yea i had lift back and nearly every car on earth sprays when its pulled inward exc. my C Very frustrating.....
My 2012 Prius C sprays the front windshield (and automatically activates the wipers for a couple of strokes) when I pull the W/W stalk towards me. To activate the wipers, I push the stalk down. Pushing the stalk up wipes the front window once only. The rear wiper and spray is controlled by twisting the cap at the end of the stalk. Twisting it forward (top of the cap towards the front of the car) activates the wiper in intermittent and then continuous mode, twisting it backward (top of the cap towards me) activates the washer. This is all described in the owner's manual. The 2016 Prius C Owners Manual (p207) describes the same operation as my 2012, so I assume that all Prius C's out there work the same way.
thanks for the reply When I pull mine in, the front wiper wipes but NO water comes out there, water comes out only on the rear wiper which also wipes. To get water on the front windshield, I have to twist that cap forward, then water comes out of the front and wipes and the rear and wipes. I dont understand it.......very confusing why its this way. Guess will pop into dealer and ask the crew in service what the deal is.
Great question...has the wiper system always acted that way? Original owner, accident damage, dash mods? FWIW I would take the owners manual, open to the wiper section and sit in the car with the manual and test before visiting the dealer. Good luck.
Umm, that sounds like it's wired backwards lo. Pulling the stalk should spray the front (and wipe the front). Twisting the cap should spray the rear (and wipe the rear). They're independent. Was the car in a collision? Perhaps it wasn't wired properly when it was fixed.
got it like 2 mos ago in a trade, yes was always this way the first day........I wasnt so concerned then as I was into checking other things out on it and had to drive it back 200 miles. It did have an accident on the CarFax, tried to track down what/how bad it was by calling all the places it was serviced at and then found a body shop sticker on the doorframe. Called them and they didnt know what work in detail was done but it was done. He said it doesnt fix major damage so I guess thats good. Guess will deal with it till I can take it to a dealer and pay to fix it. Thanks for the other replies above. I did read the manual a few times and no, its not right the way it works. Thanks again.
