Exactly,

I bet, he meant that all those who have an opposing ideas than his own, fit the description of "anti- American"

:)

BTW, this poll is ridiculous, unless it targets islamo-fascists and all those who deliberately engage in some anti-American activities.

I guess, I'm glad I haven't voted in larkinmj poll for the most stupid poll, this one wins undisputedly.

Here's my poll for Wildkow:
Are you aware that you may be a fascist?
Yes No

Bullfeathers! Define your terms. If by pro- or anti-American you mean for or against the founding rhetoric of this country (all [people] are created equal, etc.) then I am pro-American.

If by pro- or anti-American you mean do I love or hate the green prairies and the snow-capped mountains, then I am pro-American.

If by "America" you mean the America that could be, the America that Martin Luther King, Jr. dreamed of, where the character of a person's heart matters more than the color of his skin, then I am pro-American.

But often, when neo-cons use the term "pro-American" they mean, do you blindly support the blood-sucking, warmongering, thieves and murderers who wield the reins of power in this beautiful land. And that makes the wording of your poll suspect from the start.

I love my country, but I hate the criminals who run it.

And just because I love my country, does not mean I consider it "better" than other countries.

So, define your question in concrete terms before I'll answer your rigged poll!

Ask a question worth answering, then.

Your question begs the answer, is insulting, and divisive. It's just flame-bait, and you know it.

Everybody, say it with me: Do Not Feed the Troll.

Wildkow

p.s. Are you the arbiter of which question is worth asking? Smells a bit like censorship to me.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(daniel @ May 20 2006, 05:17 PM) </div>
OMG! daniel if you love your country, don't be afraid to say it! Vote from the heart man you can do it! It's a question about America and America only not the people who run it or the things they have done.

Wildkow

p.s. Could one of the moderators please tell me why I can't vote in my own poll? :(

p.p.s Never mind it let me vote, finally.

I will not vote in your poll.

Everyone on PriusChat is for America. Everyone. Republican, Democrat, Green or other...we are for America and we want America to do well. I bought a Prius to help America and the Earth. I want Her to have clean skies and clean water. I want my child to grow up in an America he can be proud of. I want the other countries of the world to look to America as THE country where true Democracy reigns.

Word. My family has been in and supported America for 13 generations. Can you match that? Yet I am totally opposed to this poll and the POV behind it. My vote is abstention and I think only a girly-man would propose it. :p

Even the most ardent Communistic, obscene leftists, and bandwagon Bush hater posters, would claim they're pro-American from their point of view on how it should be, and from that standpoint, from the "America" these individuals have idealized, then I would consider myself anti-American. I DON'T want to live in a place where I'm effectively FORCED to learn another language to get by, I don't want to HAVE to smile and say I'm fine with homosexuality, when I really DON'T like it, and be effectively labeled a bigot for it. If this is what America will ultimately come to, the America I know will no longer exist. Until then, I will help hold the line on what myself and many others consider America, to the last man. Until our votes are overrun by the mindless cockroaches of extreme liberalism and we drown in their foul bile.

Unfortunately, America is already being permeated and watered down by these very anti-American sentiments, mostly under the shallow guise of "Oh, it takes courage to stand up and question the government!" they will proclaim, as false prophets of some warped ideal. After all, the question has actually come up as to whether or not English should be the "official" language. Totally unf'ing believable this is even contemplated in the first place.

There's a fine line between inviting someone into your home, helping them, sheltering them, feeding them, helping them get a job and helping them back on their feet, and letting them have the run of it.

America is about personal freedoms and choices, it is NOT an open ended orfice for you to violate and ejaculate your views/way of life all over everyone else. Not everyone likes having to wipe your particular semen from their hair.

I don't think I'm the one who decides if your poll is stupider than a bag full of hammers, and flame bait besides.

I'd say all the various replies to that effect, so far and still forthcoming, will make that louder and clearer than I can be all by myself.

ANTI - for the same reasons the Squid listed. This country and all others will soon be living out the mad maxx scenario for we brought this upon ourselves.

And we are completely pathetic - killing others in the name of our colorful rag

Even though it's flame bait, I voted anyway.

And at the same time, the most ardent war hawks, the religious right, and the bandwagon Bush supporter posters would claim that they stand for America and what they think it should be - you can't think that's just a liberal problem. You shouldn't have to be 'forced' to learn another language to get by - but maybe we've done something wrong if you don't want to. I don't think you should have to pretend to like homosexuality, I certainly won't make you smile at it, but you not liking something does NOT give you(you in the bigger sense, here) the right to legislate against it. In my book, a country where noone wants to learn anymore, where people embrace legislation based on blind bigotry (and its own foul bile) - that's what I'm holding the line against, as well as a hundred more far more important issues than national languages and gay sex.

Your last statement says it about as well as I ever could - it's funny that we both are working for the same thing, but that you can use it to be so damned venemous. What it comes right down to is that you are guilty of the same closed minded hateful thinking that you spend so much time complaining about. Maybe Gore or Kerry wouldn't have been the best choices - we know darn well Bush isn't exactly working out as your golden boy. Stop fighting idiotic issues, stop drawing lines in the sand, stop being blind. Find a candidate that supports AMERICA - not the leftist or rightist schemes you hear on the news at night. Both sides are being equally stupid, and I thought you were smart enough to see it.

Both questions ("Have you stopped beating your wife yet?" and "Are you pro- or anti-American?") put the responder in the position of seeming to say something he or she does not feel or believe.

Your question is simply meaningless because what it means to be "pro-American" or "anti-American" is all muddled up in political polemics.

Lots of polls do this kind of thing, but they are usually more subtle about it.
