Do we have any documentation of the PIP's traction battery makeup? What kind of cells it is using? We know they are Li-Ion. Do we know much more than that?
Battery Makeup: 56 Prismatic NCA (Nickel Cobalt Aluminum) Lithium Ion 21.5 Ah cells. Max Cell Voltage: 4.15V, Min Cell Voltage: 3.00V Manufacturer: Primearth EV Energy Co. Pack Rating: 4.4 kWh Pack weight : 176 lbs Nominal System Voltage: 207.2V
Thanks for that. I suppose If I dig back through 4+ years of PIP info in this forum I would find things like that. But it is difficult to find PIP info with everything shoved into one subforum. Any reason why the PIP doesn't get multiple subforums like the other gen Prius'? Even just a separate technical forum for all the geeky goodness would be helpful.
probably cause they only made it for 4 years and sold in 15 states. not enough volume. horse and buggy now, will probably get relegated to small print under the prime forum.
Well if you believe everything you read then they should discontinue the Prius C and Prius v sub forums. Seriously, though the PiP will be a classic in a few years. Well OK maybe not, maybe after I'm no longer able to drive. But yeah the moderators have a quandary on their hands. Do they list the Plug-in stuff under Plug-in Prius or under the, about to be, more popular Prius Prime so the relevant stuff for a users' car is easier to find? With the sub model Prime would anybody even know they have a generation 2 plug-in Prius or the difference with the generation 1? My thoughts - as soon as the Prime comes out make the Generation 1 PiP a sub forum under the Prime. Of course they could actually make a Prime category and have all the Prime models underneath like Prius, Camry, Prius v, etc.. Or just leave everything as is.
