TRD sway bar worth it?? Or TRD drop springs??

I love mine. I also got the Cusco front sway bar for an extra dose of flat cornering awesomesauce.

 

He doesn't mention springs, but the trd's I understand drop .9", I put the rear lower sway bar on, it helped.

 

The TRD springs give you between 1" to 2" drop. It's enough that caution is called for when going over speed bumps. And if there is more than two adult men in the car, I'll ask them to get out before crossing a significant speed bump.

 

i had TRD springs on 17 oem wheels on toyo A20 tires Harsh ride , scrapping over speed bump, a very unpleasant driving experience! Change over to regular RSR springs ! Ahh lot better now! With a slight 1 inch drop alround. Before TRD sway bar speeds above 60 mph I feel the car would drift left to right depend on the road surface conditions! After the sway bar installed it elimated the drifting issue. I belive the torsion bar too soft bending up the down depending on your rear alignment and thrust angle will affect the rear tracking, compare to our volt and fiesta ST the rear torsion bar is solid round tube vs Prius u shape bar.

 

Knowing the roads here, that's the reason why my springs are still in a box in the garage...

Actually, I'm having problems getting my jack to fit under the car even with stock springs. What happens if I drop the car...

 

I'm on TRD springs. Gives me 1.1 drop in the front and 1.5 in the rear. I'm on 18x8 rims with 225/40 tires with 10mm spacers in the rear. The ride is definitely harder, however, it's not bone jarring hard. It's livable. Also, as far as bumps go, sure, you have to watch out for bumps...as with any lowered ride. Even a stock Prius has to watch out for heavily slanted driveway.

I vote for rear sway bar.

 

Everyone's preferences for ride feel tend to vary. But in my opinion, the TRD rear swaybar is a winning choice for anyone. It doesn't make the ride more harsh while providing a noticeable reduction in body roll on cornering. In the case of extreme performance demands (such as autocross competition) you would need something more stiff.

I've been told that many people feel that the TRD springs are too bouncy and will eventually change to some kind of coilovers. Having used my TRD springs for several months now I can see how people might feel that way. But in my opinion, the TRD springs are a fair compromise that improves handling while still preserving much of the OEM feel and ride height.

 

I went from tanabe nf springs to tein springs to rsr coilovers. The best upgrade through this whole time was the TRD rear swaybar

 

No it doesn't matter and I'll say go for rear swaybar first. If you want the most comfortable lowering springs, get tanabe NF springs. It's so OEM, I replaced it with tein hTech lol. I think the spring rate is pretty close to OEM springs and it's less than an inch drop

 

No issue, it's still in tolerance with Toyota camber specs. You're still good

 

Drive on a 2x6 with front tires helps alot
