I picked up a Two Eco today, for my commute. I drive about 230 miles round trip to and from work, almost all highway. I think it'll work well...quiet, comfortable seat, and what I hope is excellent fuel economy. And for those who believe that threads are useless without pics, here ya go.
Congrats on a sharp new ride! I love the silver Pls report back with your mpg's and avg speeds for that looong commute, am interested in seeing what the Eco can do on extended highway jaunts
Yeah, that's a great color. I haven't seen a silver one yet on the road. (And thank you for your military service.)
Thanks. I'm very interested to see how it does as well. I should get a pretty solid idea this week, but over time the fuel economy could go two ways: it could increase as I learn how to get the most from the car over the commute, or it could get worse if I start getting complacent. The commute itself starts with about 4 miles of city driving, then 15 miles of 55-60 mph two-lane with some curves and hills, then other than the last 5 miles of 25-35 mph curving uphill roads, the rest is all highway with typical speeds of 65-72. The question mark in my mind is how it deals with the return trip...for the majority of the trip home on most days, I'll have a 20-30 mph headwind, generally from my front-left....that's the prevailing winds in that area for that time of day.
that new look is finally growing on me. It'll undoubtedly give you many years of fuel shipping economy ..... welcome!
I found a website that can make up the old style at $5 apiece. Never had the time to follow through with it yet though. One of these days .....
Congrats on the car! I'll admit, I was kinda kicking myself when the Gen.IV was released that I didn't just wait for it. My Gen.III is a great car though, so I can patiently wait until its financially smart for me to trade for a Gen.IV. Also, I WANT A PRIUSCHAT STICKER!!
Thanks! My husband and I looked at the Gen III Prius. We chose to not get a Gen III because he literally didn't fit behind the steering wheel...he's 6'5" with long legs, and the flying buttress center console forced his leg into the steering wheel, which would have made it unsafe and uncomfortable for him to drive. Even though he'll rarely drive it, I kinda thought it would be ridiculous to get a car that he couldn't drive. The Gen IV's more conventional center console and additional seat travel works better. Add in the seat that's more comfortable for me and the reduced road noise, and the Gen IV just made sense.
Love it! Gen 4 still growing on me my only complaint is the section of the little rear pillar window kinda reminds me of a Saturn :O haha! Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I just got the 2016 eco two but come in with no fog light. Anyone had any luck in getting them. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I bought a 2016 Toyota Prius Two Eco on July 4, 2016. I have to admit I love it. Combined city and highway driving in 90-100 degree weather. My first tank of gas took me 600 miles, with a 58 mpg average. My hunch is I'll be able to do better on long trips. I previously owned a new 2007 Toyota Prius and had 269,900 miles. I bought my 2016 for about $1,000 less than my 2007.
