Hello, Has anyone experience a rattle noise coming from the driver side door area? I have this car for 2 days and now i started to hear some rattle noise from driver side area.
if no help (and why should you have to fix a new car anyway) take it to the dealer. they probably left a beer can inside your door.
Yes me too! Drives me crazy. But it isn't consistent at all. In fact now that I think about it I have not heard it in awhile. Maybe I have gotten used to it. I will listen closely tomorrow and see if I hear it again. I had tried to pin point it, but couldn't. I got another 1,000 or so till my 5k service and I was gonna mention it to them then. iPhone ?
Yes, but only in one of my Prius Two's. I am thinking of having the dealer fix it. It comes one when the engine is just under a bit of load (like up a small grade), so it is chassis vibration related, I believe. I have not found where or how to silence it yet. If I find it, I'll post back!
Fortunately, no rattles in my Three. (Or maybe I can't hear them because of the loud tire noise. Get yourself some Toyo Tires... and you won't hear a darn thing! ) When I was vacuuming the car yesterday, I moved the passenger seat all the way forward. I found a white plastic 6" knife laying in the seat channel frame. What the heck?! The assembly man must have been taking his lunch break in my car.
In the past it has always been something lying loose in the car somewhere. At least not an empty beer can.
Years ago, I read articles that told about disgruntled GM workers who purposely put nuts & bolts in the door panel.
So, my rattle comes and goes. When it shows up I have found that a firm pull on the door pull with the door shut seems to make it go away for awhile. Just a temporary fix but thought I would share. I will mention it to the dealer next time I am in for service. Hopefully for a permanent fix. iPhone ?
i end up taking off my interior drive side door panel and put it back on. Right now seem like the noise are gone. Im guessing some part of interior door panel are rubbing against the mental frame of the door. If the noise come back again i'll put some foam pad or double side tape on the area where might be rubbing. It only happen when i drive on a rough road/highway where there is a lot of vibration.
Did you drive with the door panel off to ascertain it's perhaps not the regulator or other things inside door? LG-H901 ?
Old Eddie Arnold song, Everybody asks me if I still love you and if you're still on my mind They ask me to tell about my broken heart and I tell 'em that I'm feelin' fine so I lie a little bit and I proudly say our book of love is closed And your memory never bothers me and when it does it comes and goes It comes and goes all right it comes every morning and it goes all night I save a lotta pride and I haven't really lied I tell 'em that it comes and goes Everybody asks me if I cried when you left me and if I've cried for you since They ask me to tell so they can all get together and laugh it up at my expense So I lie a little bit and I proudly say not one teardrop flows If there is a little pain it's not a constant thing it kinda just comes and goes It comes and goes all right it comes every morning and it goes all night I save a lot of pride and I haven't really lied I tell 'em that it comes and goes. I also have the rattling noise inside the driver side door. It sounds like a loose wire or something vibrating and hitting the plastic door panel. How do you take the door panel off to inspect?
Hope this guys help you find your rattle. Here was my fix. Attached is a Pic of under my driver side dash that a annoying rattle was coming from. The 2 white vents located under the driver side dash is what was causing alot of annoying rattles in my 3 touring. Putting 2 thick rolled felt between the black piece / white vent resolved the rattles.
lol so i thought the issue was the seal between the 2 halves but it still makes rattling noises when they were duct taped tighter together. Applying ANY pressure to the unit as a whole stops the noise so that's probably why adding foam between the drop plate and then vent works because it applies pressure on the vent by pushing on it from the drop down plate. I will wedge some foam tape in there and report back.
The rattle was cleared after i wedged some fabric in between the vent gap. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
