My stock tires had dry rot and almost no tread.

I decided to keep the stock wheels for winter tires next season and get a different set of wheels for the summer

    I wanted something OEM

I saw the a bunch of newer Corolla S wheels on Offerup and reached out to the sellers.

I ended up picking up this set for less than the cost of two new tires.

I was getting 55mpg via the MFD prior to the new wheels. I'll update this thread, with new mpg, once I've driven around 300 mixed miles.

    Thanks,

It's not many miles but I was averaging around 55 miles local suburbs, really babying it.

I got around 48 trying to keep up with everyone.

I'll post another update once I get to around 300

    They definitely feel heavier

Wow that looks really good! Just bought the fiancé a 2015 Corolla S Plus with those rims and I didn't know they fit so well on a Gen 2. She might just have to watchout because her rims might suddenly switch cars :)

If your fiancé is as car-aware as my wife, she'd never know that you'd switched.

Prius almost seems like a separate company, with all their march-to-a-different-drummers ideas regarding alloy rims and plastic covers. Meanwhile run-of-the-mill Corollas looking good! Are they 16"? I saw a set of those the other day, walking the dog.

The Corolla S wheels are 17 inchers.Feels a little like pulling an anchor, especially when accelerating?

its the weight. but the plastic covers are so lame. toyota should have just left them off and painted the wheels a better color. or better still only made touring wheels, painted a better color.

Feels like weights on your ankle...

Now my Prius is only getting 45mpg, but I'm driving it like a normal car and keeping up with traffic.

I'm throwing around the idea of putting some lightweight SSR C's on 16's with LRR tires. I think that might be a good balance of size and FE.

    I haven't noticed a decrease in HWY, still getting 45mpg at 70mph.

I only notice during starts, not so much on highway and suburb driving
