We have enjoyed some Gen2 hacks like turning off the reverse beep, checking the 12 volt and others. Does the Gen3 also have some hacks or control combinations that allow other settings?

Perhaps I should have been more specific. Do we know of any that we can access without other devices? If not, what are the preferred devices to access them?

If you want it to work immediately without technical knowledge, I can recommend the Scangauge II ScanGauge II ODB Scan Tool + Digital Gauges + Trip Computers - PriusChat Shop

With more assembly required you could get a an ELM327 OBDII to Bluetooth adapter and run Torque software on an android device.
Torque Pro (OBD 2 & Car) - Android Apps on Google Play
Bluetooth Adapters - Torque OBD2 Wiki
and pair the OBDII adapter to your android device.

There exist other software packages for PCs or iDevice, but I have not used them.

Thanks Jim. I may have to go for the Scangauge semi-permanently mounted.

I'm sure Toyota didn't design it that way but when I'm hitting the corners with some aggressive driving I'll put the car in Power Mode and also leave the Engine Brake on to help slow the car down quicker before entering the corner.

I am guessing that translates as "I am squandering the most gas, that MUST be the most sporting it can be." No data, all impression.

Squandering....made me smile; I love that word.

Power mode from what I have read on this forum increases gas pedal sensitivity.
    Nothing else.

Perhaps power mode opens the throttle body blades quicker or allows more electricity to flow with small pedal movements.
I am unsure of the mechanical operation.

Transmission B mode alters the CVT trans settings so the trans doesn't "free wheel" when coasting.
Instead B mode allows the decelerating drag/ friction of the engine to transfer to the trans.

    Anyway...that's my understanding.

That's my understanding too. I use this combo occasionally when I need the car to stay responsive (as far as a Prius can actually be responsive). What I wish could be hacked is the programming for when the engine cuts in and out, or at least have a switch to lock on the motor and get a properly responsive throttle.

It is a single speed transmission, with no clutch. The gears never disengage and it never free wheels.

What is true, is that the engine produces as much torque as is needed in any situation and you wish to create more situations where it needs to produce torque.

I just doubt that 'the engine makes more noise as an air pump' is actually moving you from point A to point B any faster. All sound, no fury.
