Hello all, Last night I got my Prius side lower panel badly scratched. I can't afford a body paint job. Can you help me with the following, 1. How can I find out my car's paint color ID? 2. Is there a place where I can order a small amount of touch up paint? Thanks!
Check this link....it will show you where to look for the paint codes -- but seriously, after you look at it, I have a better solution than going down to the local auto parts store -- or mail ordering... Toyota Paint Code Locations | Touch Up Paint | AutomotiveTouchup Bite the bullet and go to the Toyota dealer. Take the VIN -- you can even take the paint code from the car if you want -- heck take the car -- but they can look up the code from the VIN. Anyway -- the duplicolors you get from places such as the Web site above, Pep Boys, Auto Zone, etc. are O.K., but I have found that the dealership sells the real deal for about the same price, or not too much more -- you can always call and ask if you are really concerned, but it is going to be around $20 for a small tube of the stuff.
Call your local Toyota dealership. Got the exact paint match there. It was under $15 after tax. They can lookup your VIN and there is also paint code info on the sticker on the driver door well.
Try here Automotive Touch Up Paint from PaintScratch - Order Pro Grade Paint - PaintScratch.com They are located in Incline Village CA and have been providing touch-up packages for a long time.
Personally, if you really want to save $$, I would skip mail order, you can get quality from Toyota and not pay shipping, or have to wait a week for delivery -- or -- again -- there really is nothing wrong with the duplicolor stuff from the local corner auto parts store, but the price diff. between them and the dealer is not all that much. Time to go original Toyota, IMHO.
Not really, Toyota has all the colors. And the prices -- which I have trouble believing -- are competitive.
No kiddin', as far as DupliColor and such. I looked in AutoZone and Advance. They don't list the color of my car, even though it was a common color for at least a couple of years.
