So I connected my phone to the entune system in my 2012 Prius plug in and it works fine but I was told that the plug in Prii get access to more features? Like controlling climate from your phone and checking the charge status? I tried looking online but it kept saying I need a Contract ID or something? I bought the car used so I don't have that. I also called the number given and they couldn't help me. Can someone tell me how to get access to those features?
In order to get the use of the plug-in apps, you need to have an active Safety Connect subscription. Without it, they won't show up in Entune. Once you sign up for Safety Connect, you use your SC contract number to add the plugin features to your entune account.
Safety connect number is 800-331-4331. There is a complementary 3-year subscription, but this will have expired on the 2012, so you have to pay to activate it. If you give them your VIN number, they can look up up your account and set it up for you. This system uses the cell phone built into the Advanced to get the so called "telematics" features, along with the emergency roadside assistance (like GM's OnStar). They will give you a contract number, which you can plug into myentune.com to activate the Advanced applications.
