Good afternoon, all. Our second Prius (a 2016 Prius Two Eco) arrived 16 days ago! Unfortunately, someone already scraped up the rear driver's side (three days ago); I had her parked in a corner spot all the way against the curb so that no one would ding it but it wasn't enough to avoid being hit by someone that doesn't know how to park (and was just wonderful enough to drive off without leaving a note). Love the car, hate people that don't know how to drive. Just finished off my first tank (almost) after sixteen days and was averaging 63.5 mpg (impressive).
Ironically, that very morning I was thinking that it would be a good idea to give the car a tiny scratch somewhere where it couldn't be seen to get the "first scratch" out of the way (as I go crazy trying to keep my new vehicles safe from their first dings). Turns out that the universe took care of it for me (to the tune of $723.00 as it was more than a scratch). Anyway, she's going in on Monday morning for the fix.
Congrats on the new toy. Sorry to hear of the 'scratch' but the body shop can do wonders! My Gen 3 Prius was hit from behind and they fixed it up like new. Now she's in the shop and from a parking lot accident and they DO say she's fixable. We shall see. Welcome and when things settle down please put up some pictures!
I got a Toyota Smart repair package as part of the deal with mine, dings and scratches covered for three years with no limit to number of claims. It saves you losing your main insurance no claims bonus £10 deductable on each claim and it can be repaired at home or at work or wherever you choose.
Well, she's been in the shop since yesterday morning. I am missing her tremendously (especially as I am driving my dad's Toyota Tundra which guzzled just under half a tank since I picked her up). The claim has been modified to include both driver's side rear lights and (unconfirmed) a new rear bumper panel. Don't know how long it's going to take but I'm expecting Monday (and praying for Friday).
It really wasn't that bad to look at but the upper light had a chip missing and the lower light wasn't broken but it was damaged and the bumper piece, upon closer inspection, was cracked in two places. I'm happy with the replacement as repairs aren't always as good as they should be.
No, sorry. I only had the vehicle for twelve days and hadn't yet gotten around to washing it. I'll have to post some "after" pics, I guess.
Dang..... I am waiting for some random person in probably a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire to open their door into my 2016.... I am a three prius family owner(own an '09, had a '14 and now a 2016) - welcome to the club!
Picked her up on Wednesday nice and clean (and of course it rained on the drive home). Got the first wash in this morning and here she is...
Damage was at the rear driver's side. The original plan was to repair and paint but then they discovered that the panel itself was cracked. The whole rear piece (basically the rear bumper panel) had to be replaced as it is one whole piece, side to side.
My first Prius was a 2011 (my son is driving it now) and now this one. This vehicle always makes me feel like I'm flying in a shuttlecraft.
