A driver of an H2 Hummer rear-ended the SUV of the New Orleans Saints football player Will Smith (not the actor.) The driver got into a heated argument then shot Smith fatally and his wife twice non-fatally. Ex-Saints DE Will Smith shot dead; suspect charged with second-degree murder I hope for at least awhile, some issues get a rest, but this does confirm to me the impression the shooter is not unlike a lot of people that driver a Hummer and other Class 3 Trucks - it's a power thing. Sad this before, but it seems most US urban areas have 5% or so that should not be driving - too drunk, too high, too immature, too distracted, or too angry. RIP Will Smith.
Had me going there I thought H2 was Hydrogen FCV, but I guess saying Hummer2. This is very sad case...
^ it seemed like road rage, but maybe it was premeditated. If it's 2nd degree murder, it's life in Louisana. It could be made 1st degree murder with the possibility of the death penalty. The suspect's Dad was killed by the NOPD - he sued and lost a wrongful death case around 2005. The football player was having dinner with the cop that shot the suspect's Dad....don't you think he would have gone after the cop?! This loser that sued for wrongful death goes after the player, kills him and shoots his wife.
I'm hoping this thread can avoid political topics thru the end of Monday at least - why I put it here instead the politics forum. To me the suspect is into a power thing for a couple of reasons - so defensive he goes tragically offensive.
