I am throwing in the towel on my Enginer kit. I saw significant (permanent) battery cell degradation during the winter months (it gets cold here in MN). It does have some heating pads to warm up the batteries, which helped performance in the cold, but it didn't protect them from the Enginer cell toaster (aka, BMS). I thought if I watched the BMS logs and kept it balanced it would be okay, but apparently not. I even had the BMS modified to reduce the upper charge limit to 3.65V. It still roasted cell 13. Anyway, if there are other Enginer people out there looking for components, let me know. I would be willing to off-load very reasonably. All the components (DC-DC, charger, etc.) are in good working order except for ~3 cells in the upper battery block. I also made a manual balance box that connects to the battery packs that can charge or discharge any selected cell at a rate of ~1 A. They are v6 components but installed in a v5 box.
Sorry for the thread bump- I wrote out an excited reply but after doing the research, it would just be too much work to interface an RFE pack containing dead cells with my mottcell pack (also containing dead cells). I still would love to get my hands on the converter but I think I'm already too far into the red on this project. I'm restoring a 4kwh enginer kit and I've got the converter and about 2kwh of batteries up and running. My charger is also working but I'm terrified of cooking the batteries so I'm charging using a hobby balance charger at a lower rate.
