Hey so I just bought a 2005 Toyota Prius with a 1 cd stereo and no backup camera.

I go to pick and pull often and I was able to score a 5 cd changer with the backup camera for only 50$.

Does the 5 cd changer have the same plug ins as the stock? Meaning, can i take apart the front dash and plug in play my 5cd changer with my backup camera?

if the cd changer is the JBL head unit, then its not gonna work. if its the auxiliary changer that fits in the pocket below the head unit then it should work. I don't think the backup cam was available in '05, so it will be very difficult and expensive to make it work if its even possible.

if the Toyota radios are like GM after they have been disconnected from power for a long time they lock up and need to be reprogrammed by the dealer, ripping apart the inside to run the camera wires is a waste of time since you need a different LCD display for it to work...if you didn't take the wire harness and MFD as well you are never going to get any of this stuff to work, return it and buy aftermarket on e bay, you can get a system like this with dvd player nav and add a wireless back up camera http:// Power Acoustik Double DIN DVD Navigation Bluetooth Radio Install Kit Harness Nav | eBay

Toyota made an auxillary changer that fit in the cubby below the head unit. it should be plug n play. but the JBL head unit with built in 6 disc changer uses an integrated amplifier which fits under the rf seat. the JBL head unit won't work without that amp hooked up to it.

48 is right. the best thing to do is get your money back for the junkyard parts and buy an aftermarket headunit which will sound better and have all the cool newest features.
