Weather difference. Mine is garage kept but the sun is a lot more brutal in Texas than Canadia. UV damages. I am on my second set of inserts.

I remember coming back from the tropics a couple of years back (don't get out much, lol), thinking: whoa, the sun really comes in on an angle around here; how come I never noticed that? :ROFLMAO:

I don't know. Just guessing. Maybe because you have cooler and nicer weather in Vancouver. I like your weather better than the tropics.

I bought the Goodyear blades from Costco. They tend to lift from the windshield at highway speeds, probably because of their shape. :-(
I'm now looking for blades with better aerodynamics.

I usually buy bosch evolution wiper blades from rockauto.com. I usually buy for the entire family and add additional parts to spread out the shipping cost.

The OEM Toyota inserts are not bad. I've also tried the costco ones, but didn't like them.

I don't buy the back wiper because it is pretty useless.

I have noticed the same thing...I will be returning to the OEM arms with inserts.

Installed wiper inserts today, front and black.

Expensive. $10.4ish a piece. $30ish total for inserts. Crazy.

Notice part #s have changed. Installed these on a Toyota Prius Gen III 2013.

I found mine on amazon for around $9 each. I think one of them went up since then. You can get the denso wiper blades from rock auto now too.

I just went to O'Reilly Auto parts bought the Bosch icon beam blades. 2 min to install. Quiet and no problem in the rain at 70 mph.

I use the Toyota refills and get 18 months to two years. The key to any wiper blade is to wipe off the dust and dirt that builds up behind the blade. It is not the blade causing streaks but the dust and dirt.

    Having the garage definitely helps.
With the drought and the high California heat waves, wiper blade inserts don't last very long especially when it's outside most of the time.

I originally replaced the OEM wiper blades with the Rain-X expert fit hybrids, however the right side smaller blade omitted an annoying intermitted chirp at high speeds above 65 MPH. Decided to return them and bought the Michelin Stealth Hybrids which other posters have recommended. These blades are great, no annoying chirps at high speeds and do a great job of wiping. Only time will tell how long they will last. :)

    Merged.

Anyone tried the cheapo Supertech blades from Wal-Mart? I put a set on my 2011 Camry and they performed better than more expensive ones I've bought.

These wiper blade threads are interesting. The OE inserts are readily available online for a very reasonable price -- they can be switched out in 20 minutes -- and last for years. But, we have many threads where people are tossing out the much better OE blade frames and buying what will end up being an inferior product.

The inserts easily last me 3+ years on cars that remaining outside in an area of the country that sees a lot of rain. I don't use my wipers to clear snow and ice.

I typically just stick with OEM blades and change inserts as well. The problem with Toyota blades is snow and ice get stuck on the "joints" and then they break. So I started using Trico Onyx in the winter. Found them ok for a few months, then chatter starts. Must be curvature of the glass.

I'm still on the OEM blades. Our car's build-date was August '09, our purchase was November '10, and the odometer's now coming up on 72K km's. Admittedly low mileage, and garage-stored, more northern. But my take-away:

The OEM blades are good, long-lasting quality, and guaranteed fit.
