If it doesn't impress me I am jumping ship & buy a Model 3. What would make me stay with Toyota is them creating an entirely new car that's 100% electric, minimum of 450 miles per charge, look just as good or better than the Model 3, same tech as the Model 3 or close to it and the fully loaded model has to be the same price or cheaper than the Model 3's fully loaded price.

And Toyota will absolutely will make a car just as you describe! Today's date makes me believe this even more so.

Well if Toyota were to make a car to compete it better look better then the 3. The front end just kills it for me, and again I don't think this car will age well, just as the S is starting to look dated.

I think Toyota reply to your requirements would be "Good bye and have luck finding it during the next 30 years"

I can see some aftermarket company which is molding a complete front grill for the Model 3 as we speak as well as a two piece cover for the glass roof for privacy and protection when needed. I am sure the wheels are a a turnin'

never know what they come up with - could be those Mercedes or Rolls grills which were popular on the VW kit car front ends in the 70's!

To answer the question: Dayam! Why couldn't our designers come up with something like this instead of the emoji design for the Gen 4!

Oh ye of little faith! I put a deposit down on a T3 yesterday, sight unseen, glad I did after seeing the car last night. I'll be turning the front end over to certain MASTAb8rs and let them work their magic. The clock is ticking until one of them buys into a T3 too!

Yes, you got that right! If you go over to the Tesla chat list, the ideas are already churning out. I have some ideas brewing for that front end too! But I think Tesla will be doing something to the front end before production starts.

I continue to feel EV's are a money-losing proposition for the major autos due to high cost of Lithium batteries. If Toyota does come out with EV it would be (1) superior and (2) you'd pay a price that would allow Toyota to not take a bath on it. If mandates force Toyota to sell EV's, then they have no choice but to bite the bullet and sell the cars at a loss (to avoid paying ZEV credits to other cos).

This is where Tesla has a major advantage with their Gigafactory. They are thinking in the long term. The cost of batteries will come down and Tesla will be in the................................driver's seat.

Well we will see how all these deposits go - I think that a lot of them are just for people wanting to flip the cars for resell for profit.
The surge in popularity certainly cries out for that. Let's hope I'm wrong....

( Toyota speaking) Sir, maybe you'd like to buy our subcompact hydrogen car, priced in the mid-fifty thousands? Within 10 years we hope to have raped a trillion dollars from taxpayers to build the infrastructure!

Remember, the first Roadster was a 2 seater without power steering.

H2 infrastructure is worth building because it can replace natural gas and petroleum fuel infrastructures. The goal is to replace fossil fuel with renewable while maintaining refuel speed.

The electric grid cannot replace. It can only supplement.

No - actually I'd read the discussion ongoing as to whether it was compact or subcompact. Isn't the cubic feet less than the Versa?

I've sat in a Mirai and it's a pretty small car on the inside. There's no feet room under the front seat were I can put my feet under the front seat of my Prius to a point were my shin is almost touching the back of the front seat.
