Hey everyone, I'm a fairly new Prius to be owner. I went to the dealer and did my homework on a Prius 2010 Gen 2 I believe. This car is so sweet and it's not a bad price! I'm very lucky to have this car waiting for me on the lot! Question, should I have extended warranty? The warranty is expired and I am not sure what to do. Btw I'm a first time driver.
Welcome ! How many miles on the car? Do you think car was always owned in NY? If so you have CARB warranty to 150000 miles
It sounds good! You might want to confirm CARB coverage with Toyota. The only 2 things that matter to Toyota (for extended CARB warranty to 10-yr and 150000 miles) is where it was orig bought/registered and where it is now. Both NY and VT are full CARB states, so it sounds like your vechicle qualifies automatically. Other than that, I am not a big of purchase of extra extended warranty.
It's the California standard that CA, NY and about 10 others states adhere to. So you get a longer warranty on the major parts like hybrid battery...kind of a nice extra. But Toyota has very special rules to qualify but it sounds like you are good on it.
