My phone is synced to the Prius but Waze sound does not come through unless I'm playing music from the phone or on a call. I usually listen to talk radio but want to be able to hear Waze directions. Is there a way to fix this?
I have the same issue with Waze and my Pv. Waze works fine with the bluetooth on my motorcycle and in my Jetta. However, no sound in the Prius v.
Bluetooth audio works as anticipated on the 2012 v Five, as does Bluetooth network sharing for access to realtime traffic and delays. (WindowsPhone 8.1 device)
Airboss are you using Waze or another app for traffic? My bluetooth interface works fine with everything except sound from the Waze app.
WAZE on Android Head Unit, works well, mutes the music for directions, WAZE on iphone, bluetooth mutes music to give directions, (Waze) in Settings: Click SOUND and Uncheck "Play sound to phone speaker", then Check "Prefer Bluetooth"
This is an older thread, so I will revive it. I have a Prius Prime 2017. I also have a Google Pixel phone, running an Android OS. I used Waze a lot, since the EnTune system sucks !!. The problem I am having is that the Android version of Waze does not have the "Prefer Bluetooth" option, while the iOS version of Waze does. So, the only real time you can hear Waze is when Bluetooth is "active", ie streaming music to a speaker, answering a call through the car's system or other things of this nature. I am sure a "enhancement" is in the works for the Android version, but not sure when that will happen. Hope this was helpful for some one out there.
