2005 prius OBD 2 scanner say linking error

    hooked up right ,scanner went though normal stages, then read linking error . stopped at local shop and put their fancy snap on reader and would not connect? said that it had 3 codes ,but that was it?tinink of pulling plug out to make sure pins are ok? any suggestion, please

    if it shows 3 codes then it connected, how else would it know
    if the cars running Id disconnect the ground wire on the 12 volt battery to clear the codes, if the cars not running start checking fuses, Id start with the ECM ( I think that's the main computer fuse) if its blown it will not connect to the scanner
    electrical daemon's can be anything, anywhere

    already left 12 volt battery discounted overnight,run .drives great, brake abs light is on due to doing some front end work with senors off, would like to clear code to get warning light off?snap on scanner said it has 3 code but could not let me know what they we from? thanks for your info

    Just a guess here, but maybe the codes are Prius-specific ABS codes and you need Techstream software to read and clear them. I'd try a Mini VCI first. If that's not it, you need diagnostics for the diagnostics, and that's just wrong.
