For those who may work for the County of Los Angeles, employees can get a discount at certain dealerships. However, I also happened to find that the site I was on mentioning a Prius Model 5, and two variations of the Prius Plug-in.
There is a separate sub forum on the main page for the Prius Plug In, including for the upcoming model.
It's an employee incentive for Los Angeles workers to purchase a fuel efficient vehicle rather than a PU or SUV. Though there are SUV's in that discount list. It DOESN'T say they are the "next generation" versions of each vehicle. I suspect they are what you see now. Even the "5" may be an error, and may just be the 4 with option package.
Quite possible that the naming my of Prius 5 might be a placement holder for a 4 with options. I can say that from months January to early March 2016, that list did not include the 2016 Prius or the new Prius Prime. It was only this week that I notice the list being updated with those models. I know some Priuschat members have been on the fence between Prius 4 or a 4 Touring, and perhaps that Prius 5 might be the vehicle some might be looking forward to. Maybe! So I'll keep an eye out on the list, and let you guys know by perhaps Summer quarter if they updated with anything new.
I knew that they were going to have to redesign that tiny touch screen. My heavens, the caboose has gone from bad to worse. At least you don't have to look at it while driving. Front end doesn't look to bad.
