agree with 1 and 4. the rest is pie in the sky.

 

They didn't make 50 miles EV, so I can't justify the fugly any time soon.

Agree with 2, 10 & 11, for autonomous driving mode; taxi or city bus ride!

I agree with bisco.

I think this is the (almost) *perfect* car for me, as it has been my plan as my next vehicle to replace my loyal '06, but the 4 seats is a huge drawback in my mind. We have two kids (in boosters, and not having any more), but having the flexibility of bringing a guest is pretty important to me. I haven't decided yet if this is a deal breaker for me, but it makes me think about other options (as much as I have been looking forward to this vehicle...). I will hold out hope for now they may offer an alternate rear seat configuration (maybe after different customer feedback ), but doubtful, I know...

I just noticed how much higher the rear deck looks, which is also a bit disappointing. I will need to compare the specs against my gen 2 to see how much of a difference it really is.

It somewhat takes a bit away from the "no compromises hybrid" reputation they have built in the past decade+ ....

I agree the rest of the points in the OP are nice to have or wish list stuff, but not critical, IMO. However, a moonroof would be nice... ;-)

Can't wait until pricing is revealed, which will probably be a few months....

It is interesting that there are very bitter comments about the rear compartment and loss of cargo space but also the need for more EV range. I do not think they are compatible using current technology. Maybe someday if the super-ultra capacitors come of age.

 

Is this even possible? I just assumed there are more batteries in there, but I haven't gone through all the materials yet. Otherwise, could this possibly be more weight shenanigans? If so, they're starting to look like the gang that couldn't shoot straight. I might delete or amend this if I find answers elsewhere.

 

i think you're right, the rear seat console is hiding batteries. why else would they do it?

 

Not sure it's even worth mentioning, but continued lack of spare tire stops it dead for me. Yeah I know, spare tires are so old school.

Also, I couldn't care if that 11" Multi Function Display vaporized. They could drop-kick that and put in a km/hr to miles/hr button, that'd be nice.

 

i just think if they had a goal for range when they designed the new chassis, they could have designed it to hold the batteries properly. then, that extra space would have been available for a spare tyre and storage on the lift back. as it is, it just seems like an afterthought.

I don't know where you came up with 300# heavier? I think it is less than 70.

 

It needs to increase EV range. Volt EV range is much better

 

It does have turn signals built-in.
