Howdy all! I am very surprised to call myself a new owner of a Prius! I went to a Mazda dealership looking for a little sporty coupe/hatchback type of vehicle, and saw the bright Habanero orange hatchback Prius, and loved it! It's really great, with only 28,000 miles. I'd love to really learn more about the vehicle, learn great tips for driving and maintaining it well, etc. Can folks give me some tips as a brand new owner, starting right out? Thanks a bunch! (I also kind of want to add tweaks to make it look more fun and sporty, like maybe some little window over-flap things at the top of the windows, paint the front bumper/"mouth" area black like a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO, etc.) And what is that "Fuelly" stat-tracker for gas fillups? Is it an app that you install on your phone, and it automagically updates your stats on your account signature banner, or something?
Amazingly, my wife and I bought the same car over the weekend--another habanero orange 2013 c! We're also looking for some tips and tricks since we are brand new to the hybrid thing. So far we're loving it, though--managed to get the MPG display to hit 99.9 on the way back from the grocery store today.
Welcome new C owners! For Prius driving tips, lots of folks like this video: Max MPG Driving Techniques Youtube Video | PriusChat I use Fuelly from a computer rather than the phone app (which isn't great). Once you have an account there's a "Share your MPG" section to show how to edit your signature on a site like PriusChat. For customizing your C you can start shopping right here. My daughters bought me a shark-fin antenna I really like. I still love my C after 2 1/2 years and hope you enjoy yours, too.
Duuuude, this is exactly the type of resource I was talking about, thank you very much -- this is outstanding!
That C looks like it has the V2 TRD lip kit, touring spoiler, front bumper garnish, fogs, rain guards, sharkfin antenna. Rebadged with the aqua badge and G's whatever it's called. Unknown 17in wheels and looks like lowering springs as well. I'm sure there's other stuff I missed, that particular C looks heavily modded. If that car is from a previous forum user here, then you can probably look up their posts and find what and where they got their parts. Should help you decide on what you wanna go with. If they're still active, you can also just ask them.
Yeah buddy the rearview mirror can be tilted up so it sits close to the ceiling! The tab under the mirror is for "anti-glare" which does reduce bright lights by reflecting the rearview window indirectly!
