How will this two tone thing work in practice anyway will we have the option to pick any combination? Maybe its just limited to the show car.

It's possible there will be certain set combinations (say red will come with a white roof) but some colour options will have the option to have either a white or black roof (like white). I doubt it will be like MINI where all colours have the option to choose the roof colour. Toyota tends to package things to make it easier and cheaper to produce.

I do like the car's style, but by glob, the blind spots. The C pillar is actually a huge wedge.

For sure it will have blind spot monitor on mirror but i agree that it will be a huge blind spot. I'm disappointed by the fact the rear window is little and they put some fixed window on it....i though they can do only one piece of window for rear doors.

It's a " Coupé ", Coupes almost always have bad blind spot.

Because a real coupe has only two doors, leaving only 2 pairs of pillars instead of three to support the roof, and car in the event of a roll over.

It still has 3 pairs - A, B and C pillars. It's just that the distance between the B and C pillars is significantly shorter.

The main problem I see is that kids have a very limited view out through the window, yes I know family's are not the target here, but still.

I am liking the fact that these images show the car with "proper" high profile tyres. Someone had commented on another forum that they were 16 inch which makes sense. Wonder what the exact dimension are:
    195/65 R16, 205/60 R16 or any other guesses ?

limited visibility due to size of rear window is indeed an issue but even Prius rear windows are smaller than average.

Also it seems only a C-HR prototype is being shown in NY Auto show (maybe so they can focus on Plugin) so the question is when will we see or hear about the real C-HR again?

On this picture they look like they are 225/50 R18

195/65 R16, 205/60 R16 are probably too small to be an option out of the factory (-3.3%/-4.4%)

215/65 R16 would be my guess as alternative.

These days, it's the design of the car that gives a 4-door a "coupe" appearance. It's the sleek roof end all the way to the trunk.
Mercedes CLS is called a coupe.
BMW 6 Gran Coupe (4-door version)
Audi A7 is also called a coupe.
BMW 4 Gran Coupe (4-door version)
    VW CC also a coupe.

It is merely marketing calling a 4 door sedan a coupe. In the same vein as calling a wagon a crossover. And for same reasons. Many of the 4 door coupes are high end brands in which sedan could invoke images of the plebeian family car.

I would guess 205/55R16 but it looks a bit wider than that. Maybe 215/60R16 but I haven't seen many cars with that size.
