So I'm doing a 24hour test drive on a 2014 Prius Two that may be replacing my 2007 Prius Touring (aka Package 5) that has a failing hybrid battery and so far I'm happy. I miss having a backup camera and premium audio but at $17000 I don't want to pay any more. Right now I just have a simple question... how do I show the energy monitor on the dash (top screen)? I even downloaded the manual but when I press the Display button on the steering wheel the only thing I can get to is "SETTINGS 3.11.16". I went into settings but didn't find anything that stood out... so I'm lost already... Anyways... anyone else have any thoughts/comments on this upgrade/downgrade?
Nope none of that works. It's either Settings with today's date under it or a blank screen with the odometer in the bottom left.
Steering wheel "Disp" switch is probably shot or a fault connector in the loom. It's possible the display is even defective. Dealership time, I'm afraid!
Maybe just press Enter and agree to that calendar settings page? It's probably just stuck in the calendar submenu. Alternatively, when you're on that SETTINGS 3.13.16 page, just press and hold DISP to go back.
The screen may have been turned off via the settings menu. Get back to the "settings" screen. Press and hold the Disp button until the settings menu appears. Make short presses of the Disp button to scroll down to the bottom of the list until you reach " Screen Off". Press and hold Disp until ON OFF is displayed. Short press Disp to select the opposite setting. Press and hold Disp to set ON or OFF. Short presses of Disp to scroll back to EXIT. Press and hold Disp to Exit.
herqulees | PriusChat Follow what PriusInParadise | PriusChat posted above to fix your problem. I went out to our Prius and turned the screen "off" with the settings control. When I did that, I then observed the scenario you are describing (settings only when pressing DISP). Once you turn the Screen "ON" you will be able to see all of the various screens including the "Energy Monitor". Best of luck to you.
That fixed it you guys, thanks a lot! In the settings menu under screen off it was set to off, I switched it to on and now I have everything. Not too sure why that's an option, and I think it could be a bit better labeled. But oh well now I can feel even more like I'm flying a spaceship and it keeps me comfortable after always driving our Gen 2 with the energy monitor on the screen.
