it's been a long time since I visited. I have owned a 2006 and a 2010. Today I traded in my 2010, which had 111K miles on it, for a beautiful 2016 Blizzard Pearl Four, not IV, with the AT package. It has a lot more than the 2010 in terms of technology, such as the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Entune apps on the radio, etc. But two things I'll miss - the 2010 solar roof (I have a moon roof on the new one but it's just a plain rectangle and no solar cell ventilation) and the double glove compartment. Otherwise, first impression is that it is a big improvement in terms of how smooth it drives, safety features, and displays. I only drove it home from the dealer, but it seemed to do better in terms of gas mileage too.

Love it !! I've owned a 2010 IV solar and a 2012 PiP. The 2016 handles much better , quieter, and seems to pulse and glide easier. Not to disparage the gen 3's but the new gen 4's are a nice advancement of the Prius line.

Hello. I'm a new PriusChat member, and a first-time Prius owner. Thanks for a great forum.

I believe your Prius Four's have the SofTex seats? How do they compare, in terms of support, with the cloth seats? Do they seem more firm and supportive than cloth? I chose the 2016 Prius Three with cloth, and after 3 weeks of driving, the seats are feeling very flat with little cushion or support. I'm a big man, and I wonder if I will regret this purchase in a few months. (I only sat briefly in a Four model with SofTex.)

Other than the seats (and the excess tire noise from the TOYO tires) I'm enjoying the 61 mpg. I too have the Blizzard Pearl, with Harvest Beige interior. It's certainly a nice change from black.

    Hi Coast Cruiser,
I had a Gen 2 Prius with cloth seats and a Gen 3 with leather. Now i have the Gen 4 with SoftTex. So here's my impression of all three. I think I liked the cloth seats well enough but I can understand that you might find them non supportive (also, I think the fabric was different from the type now used so maybe one can't compare). When I got the leather, while I much preferred the look, I found them very hard for a while - almost sore-butt hard. I finally got used to them. Now, I think the SoftTex is just right, and the power adjustments are a big improvement - although I wish they came with memory. Do I sound like Goldilocks?

Now that you have the cloth seats, are you able to purchase the SoftTex? If so, I would recommend that you test drive a car with those seats to see whether you like them better.

And I picked up my red four with PCP + ATP + Moonstone yesterday finally, finally. Coming from a Prius v, cheese to chalk. Excellent ride--Behold: A suspension which can conquer the New York roads! Well done Toyota.

I find the Softex seats to feel, well, softer than cloth. For me, cloth tends to feel a bit grabby on clothes, have a little harder feel where Softex (or leather, and no Softex is not leatherf) feels more supple and luxurious. Not saying cloth is bad, just something I've noticed.

As for the power seat vs. the manual adjust, they feel virtually the same. The power seat allows tilt adjust of the cushion and the manual seat is like the power seat with its cushion adjusted up about 3/4 inch. Power seat gets you power adjust lumbar too.

To be honest, the SofTex seats aren't great, specifically on the bottom cushion. They're flat and make your butt and legs numb after a longer trip or commute. The back rest with the power lumbar support helps your back significantly. Toyota should really try harder on the seats for the next Prius.

Thanks, 'Lectro. I've heard the same thing from a couple other SofTex owners. Appreciate your honesty.

There are definitely a few areas where Toyota dropped the ball with this new Prius. I wish I had been more patient, and rented a '16 from Hertz for a week, before buying.

Mine are Yokohama Bluearth S34. Prius size is not even stocked by Tire Rack. only the size for the Prius V.

Hope you are enjoying - all cool with mine.
