This weekend, I purchased a silver 2016 Prius Four fully loaded (Advanced Technology Package and Premium Convenience Package). It is my first time owning a Prius. I had previously only owned VWs and Audis. I elected to go with the Prius after souring on VW/Audi (diesel cheat) and after driving several Priuses as rental cars over the past year. This site proved extremely helpful when preparing for my purchase and familarizing myself with the vehicle's features. I live in Northern Virginia and commute into downtown DC each day in bumper to bumper traffic. Over the last two days, I've averaged 62 mpg during my commute - quite a change over the 18mpg I was getting in my old Audi A4. I purchased my Prius from Ken Fisher at Koons Tysons Toyota for $31,104 (plus tax and title) - roughly $2,400 under the MSRP. That was the best price I received from any NOVA/DC/MD dealer. Ken was a pleasure to work with. No high pressure tactics or slimy sales pitch. He seemed genuinely committed to making sure I bought the exact car that I wanted rather than something they had sitting on the lot. Very different experience than other area dealerships.
Yep Welcome. I also LOVE my Prius in congested traffic and traffic jams. It's the only vehicle I've ever owned that actually makes me kind of enjoy being stuck in traffic. There's something very nice about inching along with your MPG improving, your engine NOT running, while nearly everyone around you is burning fuel. I think it's an ownership dynamic exclusive to very few vehicles.
Congrats! Best of luck. Sounds like a highly packaged Prius. You will appreciate the model four's amenities.
Welcome! I also got rid of an Audi A4 for my Prius. I heard of good things about Koons after I bought mine at Jim Coleman but I try not to cross the bridge if I don't have to
I am in the same boat as you I had a audi a3 tdi. Just put down a down payment on a Prius four yesterday, will arrive in n 6 to 8 weeks.
You made a reliable choice - and welcome! I was in a GenII 2009 Prius taxi just this morning and it had almost 300,000 miles (296K miles & change) on it. Not too shabby! You came to the right place for all things Pri.
Wow! That's good to know... My son has a 2006 with 102K. Hopefully both his and mine will last just as long.
