The brochure and specifications (Australia) make no mention of sensors, just a camera. Anyone know if they're there? No dealers have cars listed in stock, so not sure when I'll see one first.
What are you looking for? When I'm backing up, my car has a little display showing the various zones around my car and if I get too close to another car when parking, it will let me know and specifically what 'zone'.
It depends on your model. I have the Prius Four with ATP and Parking Assist and my car has sensors on every side.
Parking sensors are part of the suite called "ICS" or Intelligent Clearance Sonar and features IPA or Intelligent Parking Assist. I don't see any of the sensors on the photos or videos on the site. In addition, the toyota.com.au makes no mention of IPA or ICS on their site Based on that, I deduce that there are no sonars available from the factory. (Presumably dealers can source their own 3rd party sensors to install on the car?). I also notice that you guys are short of an airbag. We have a front passenger seat cushion airbag in North America.
Or maybe the website does not have correct information. The German Toyota website says that the automatic parking option is for free, it is not at all (950€ to be precise). If you have a camera, you might not have the sensors - which are extra, at least in Germany on the mid-trim. The Prius I tested last week, had a read camera but no sensors.
