hello everyone! I read the post about the Prius four but mine has the tech package with sunroof or the map light cover is different. Does anyone know how to remove it? Thank you for your time
It's probably the same. I suggest a plastic pry tool. Go slowly. The plastic clips will pop out with some effort but be careful. iPhone ?
Ok, got my friend at Toyota to get me the diagram but per his request I can not share it. I am able though, to show you how to do it if you have questions but pretty similar like Glen said. Here's some pictures. PM me if you have questions.
I've replaced the map lights in my 2017 4 with the AT package, it was a pain but worth it. I got between the plastic and headliner on the windshield side and started pulling The cover popped off with a crack sound and thought for sure I broke something, but upon inspection it was undamaged. Then I carefully worked off the clear covers over the lights, they come off relatively easy once you get one corner started. You'll want to pull the lights straight out, don't twist because the socket could disconnect and it's on the top side of the module. Here's some pictures from another thread of someone who pulled out the entire module. How to Change Front Map Lights. | PriusChat
Yes, mine has moon roof controls and there isn't a sunglasses holder. The map light cover edges are behind another cover that goes over moon roof controls. Edit: I tried pulling the whole thing out but got worried about damaging the headliner.
O ok, we wanted a sunroof but none are had any. In fact I have yet to see 1 with a sunroof in person.
You can remove the lens that cover the lights. It a little hard to get into but it is possible to change the lights without remove the whole thing.
Please do a video, cause the bulbs come in from the back. So I'm gonna say it's impossible to do it any other way.
I changed mine by just removing the lens. We do not have the moon roof option in the UK. Just put a loop of sticky take around the bulb and it makes pulling them out of the holder a piece of cake. I didn't fancy pulling out the whole lamp and risk damaging the headlining.
