Disable interior alarm sensors?

What type of dogs are they, and what do they do when you leave them in your 2016 Prius?

It is interesting that the Gen 2 in the UK had an interior alarm and that the Gen 4 does as well there. Here in North America, neither one does so far as I am aware.

 

Wow! Not only do you get an interior alarm, the passenger has their own steering wheel and pedals! <G>

 

In the gen 3 there is a button on the ceiling by the interior light to disable the internal theft sensors (UK)

 

That explains much......

We use a different security modality.....

Leaving pooches in cars is a hotter topic on this side of the pond (pun nearly unintended) because of our much warmer climate.
Usually some PITA type flames people at the very mention of the practice.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I have found a solution.

The sensor is by the front interior light, in front of the glasses holder. It can be disabled by unplugging the sensor which is a 5 mins job.

Undo the 2 screws inside the glasses holder, then remove the whole panel (clips on the four corners, use quite a bit of force with fingers - they didn't break for me). The alarm sensor is the black box covered in blue and black foam. Unplug the wire that goes to it. Reassemble.

The alarm will still go off if you open the doors from the inside, but will no longer go off if there is movement inside the car. Should solve false alarms too. No warning lights on the dash or other side effects.
