<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Tideland Prius @ May 12 2006, 06:26 PM) </div> they were? Who told you that? There are several ZZ engines, 1ZZ, 2ZZ, 3ZZ and 4ZZ engines. From 1.4 (98hp), 1.6 (110hp), 1.8 (129hp) and 1.8 2zz with 174-192hp. ZZ is block anyway, and they would probably update it. 2zz is very high tech engine, not only VVTLi part but whole engine is high tech, low friction. I very much doubt Prius will have larger AZ engines (2.0l and 2.4l)...
I'm only aware of the 1ZZ and 2ZZ. Insider info says the new XRS will have the 2AZ engine and optional 4WD and 18" tyres. Speculation says the regular Corolla models get a 2.0 litre. Yeah, the 2ZZ is high tech. I mean, even Lotus wants it! heh.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Tideland Prius @ May 13 2006, 01:26 AM) </div> It is a 2.4L premium sedan which is also going to be introduced in 2008 they wrote. Anyway, Toyota will provide hybrid versions for all vehicles in 2012, so a lot of variations will be shown. Yes, it is strange. So, I call the magazine is joke. The current 1NZ-FXE engine just received International Engine of the Year Awards 2006 on the Best Fuel Economy and the 1.4-litre to 1.8-litre categories. http://www.ukintpress.com/engineoftheyear/whatsnew.html There is no reason to replace the engine with heavier one. I hope Toyota adds rear seat head room to the next Prius. The picture doesn't appear than they are planning to.
