Not sure if there is a similar thread (couldn't find it via search) What cars have you owned? Tell us, post pictures as well if you have em. Ill start off. My first car 2001 Ford Mondeo ST220 3.0 V6. Nice car, enjoyed it. Sold it because petrol was getting expensive. €1.85 per liter. I drive about 30.000 km per year, so you do the math. The car did 7km per liter. My second car. 2006 Fiat Grande Punto 1.3 diesel. Very nice little car in very rare trim and color. Had all the options you could get. As far as I know its the only one ever sold like this. Very rare automatic gearbox. My third car Full option 2008 Toyota Avensis Station 2.0 D4D diesel. Good car. Solid and shitloads of torque and power. Enjoyed it. Now I own a 2010 Prius and a 2015 Mercedes Benz E220 CDI. Full Option.
Took my driver's test in my dad's 1967 Ford Country Squire Station Wagon. Good car to learn how to parallel park in... 1976 Fiat 128 (Good car to learn how to work on cars - Fix It Again, Tony! ) 1982 Subaru DL Hatchback 1989 Isuzu Trooper RS 1998 Ford Taurus 2005 Ford Focus 2010 Toyota Prius
I think I wrote this down a few years ago when somebody asked for pictures of your first car....but.... 1) High School sophomore (what, 1973?), 1957 Chevy BelAir. Dad took it away a year or so later after he caught me sneaking in the back window of the house at 4 a.m. 2) High School Senior 1971(?) Chevy Vega. A totally horrible car in terms of mechanics, but it looked O.K. I ended up wrecking it the summer before I went to college. 3) In 1979, spent the summer following the Grateful Dead. Picked up a 1962 Ford Custom for $100. Sold it for $100 when I went back to college. 4)My Dad died when I was in early 20's, I got his 1962 Ford Falcon. Love/hate with that one. Reliable, easy to work on straight-6, but no girl magnet. 5 Falcon fell apart, literally, right front end separated while crossing RxR tracks after about two years. I bought a 1979 Datsun 210 (not to be confused with the B210) around 1985. 6) 1984 Toyota Tercel 7) 1998 Nissan Quest minivan 8) 2003 Toyota Camry Yes, I do have a Prius, but I did not include the "wife's cars" in this list.

It's always in my signature. Favorite? My 2011 Gen III of course. I still have the Plymouth van. The LeBaron just sold in the past month. All the others are just memories.
You guys live in the US and as far as i can read none of you have owned a signature proper 60' 70' American car. Its one of my dreams to own a 67 Mustgang, 69 Camaro, 60's Charger / Challenger, Plymouth Barracuda
1964 Ford Falcon 1989 Ford Probe 1969 Ford Bronco 2002 GMC Sierra 1974 Ford Bronco 2005 GMC Sierra 2012 Prius C 2015 Prius 2
I came close LOL. My 70 Duster had a 318. I put on dual exhausts and found out a 4 barrel from a 273 Barracuda would fit right on the existing manifold. It was great car since I couldn't afford anything fancier at the time. I always drooled over my friends 70 Boss 302 Mustang.
1974 VW Bug 1988 Ford Mustang (totaled - 1st year in college) 1987 Mercury Cougar 1993 Ford Thunderbird 1993 Ford Mustang GT 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix 1998 Ford Thunderbird (transmission went out at 30k, had enough of domestics after this) 2003 Honda Accord EX-L 2006 Toyota Solara Convertible 2007 Toyota Prius (the first car I ever kept long enough to pay off) 2015 Toyota Prius Not a very exciting list.
1988 Toyota Corolla (red) - 25-30 mpg - bought new a year after graduating from college 1994 Toyota Corolla (red) - 20-25 mpg - spouse brought to the marriage 2003 Honda Accord (gold) - 20-25 mpg - replaced the 88 Corolla 2011 Toyota Prius (winter grey) - 50 mpg - replaced the 94 Corolla 2015 Toyota Prius (sea glass pearl) - 40-45 mpg (have had it only in winter) - replaced the 03 Accord
Where's the 14 Prius? His 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera 1987 Dodge Omni 1987 Nissan Sentra E 1992 Honda Accord EX 1995 Acura Integra GSR 1998 Toyota Corolla LE 2009 Hyundai Sonata GLS 2005 Toyota Prius Base Hers 1990 Honda Accord EX 2002 Honda Civic EX 2006 Honda Civic LX 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-In Base Starting in 1996 when I got my license, I averaged a different used car every year until my sister handed down to me her then 4 year old Corolla. The rest either broke down or in the case of the Acura was totaled by an old man rear ending me. The Corolla lasted me through college until I got married. I gave my Hyundai to my mom last month for another hand me down from my sister. She currently drives a 2012 v, so it may be my 9th car in another couple of years.
First car....(of over 30) Favorite car....bar none.... Second Favorite Least Expensive The one I wish I still had. Most abused.... Most dependable. If I won the lottery.... Probably my next car.....
Lots of Jap drivers here. To be honest I dont like japanese cars at all lol. Why do i own a prius, well simple. I want to have an automatic, i like automatics because of the comfort. Unfortunatly almost all European cars nowadays are semi autos (dual clutch or robotically operated single clutch units), they arent very reliable. The most reliable automatics on euro cars are the merc automatics and i cant afford to have two mercs hence the prius. @ETC(SS) thats a very impresive list. I like some of the muscle in that list. BTW i was also in the market for the same car, over here they are sold as Opel Ampera, but they are a lot more expensive than a prius plus only two seats in the back.
1971 VW Camper Bus I bought this in 1983 for $200, with a blown engine. It rattled severely from an accident to its side. But it had a pop-top and two beds, a fridge, sink... wow. After rebuilding the engine and replacing the clutch, transmission, brakes, tires and shocks, I drove it to about 25 Grateful Dead concerts in ten states. I also drove it from the East Coast to California. I (very) briefly lived in it until I found a place to live. I loved it more than any vehicle I ever owned. I also hated it more than any vehicle I ever owned. Horribly unreliable and not safe. 1984 Renault LeCar My college car. I bought this for $2,000 with 50K miles. It was in pristine condition and lasted about three years and 50K more miles before, very predictably, everything fell apart. 1988 Nissan 200sx First car after college. I still don't know why I bought this car. I'll never listen to a car salesman again. 1996 BMW 328i Hell yes! Magnificent car. Drove it daily for fifteen years until part costs got too high. 2010 Prius I'd still have this car, except that it had no commuter sticker, so I traded it for... 2012 Prius Plug-In Which I still drive. 85,000 miles of flawless reliability. It is the VW Beetle of its generation. That was fun.
@Rebound your love and hate relationship with your first car is very familiar. My ford mondeo was also the most unreliable car i owned, but i loved it. I still wish i hadnt sold it. 1x Engine Seized due running without oil. After an oilchange some idiot didnt fully tighten the oil drain plug, over time all oil was gone and I ended up with a blown engine. Strangly the oil light never lighted up. After the engine swap the transmission failed, my own fault because I layed rubber on every occasion i had. After the transmission swap, the clutch slave cilinder failed. Fixed that aswell. More and more parts started to parish so i sold it for like 800 euros, the sound system was worth double of that. It was a good car
