2015 with 17k miles. Used to be that I'd walk away from car it's auto lock after a few minutes. Liked this feature. As of late, realized when I approach car with keys in pocket after an hour or so, the car is already unlocked when I open door. Any thoughts? Or did I some how disable it with key fob? I haven't messed with anything. Thx
Guessed it wouldn't be the battery as new as it is. I'll let the dealer handle it. Create a paper trail that way and they can pay for it. Thx
I always thought the "auto-lock" feature only worked if you unlocked the car, but then did not open any doors. I may be wrong. I certainly never tried it the way you describe.
agree, never really understood auto lock. is it in the manual? only time i've ever noticed it is when i unlock with fob, and don't open doors, they relock themselves. maybe the same thing would happen if i put my hand on the handle to unlock, but idk, cause i always open the door.
If I walk away and didn't lock the car and fob not in the car, or detected by the car, locks all doors after a couple minutes. (or it used to). It's if you forget to lock your car. I got used to it. Saved me from diggin in pocket to grab fob. Just walked away and locked up on its own
You never need to dig into your pocket to handle the fob. It is easy to keep in the pocket. By touching the grooves outside the door handle you engage the lock. Touch, and it beeps ( and/or honks if you have it setup that way) and locks. I only handle the fob when forgetting to do this. I can not just walk away and it lock itself. I have also noticed the lock reengage after I unlocked it but did not open anything.
interesting after a year, you think you need the fob to lock the car, but the car (used to) lock itself. i'll be interested to hear the outcome. all the best!
Yeah, that's my understanding. As far as I know, the Gen 3 doesn't have an auto-lock feature, unless operated as above.
i wonder if this will be like the 'winter heating up before work' thread, with many posts and advice, but no outcome.
