Hey everyone, Like everyone else, I was uber excited to update the Entunes system after the app updated itself on my phone (Nexus 6). I was looking forward to the iHeartRadio update, since I didn't understand the ability to listen to radio stations from other locales before. The update was supposed to allow you to listen to artist stations though, and pick up from where you left off if you were previously listening on desktop or mobile. However, I have not been able to connect to the app ever since the update, and it never establishes a successful connection. Has anyone else been having this problem? Anybody know how to get around it? I don't entirely care for Pandora since their algorithms leave you listening to the same blend over and over, and their ads are not customized and annoying, and although I'm playing with the new Slacker addition, I'd like to utilize the iHeartRadio function too. For now, I'm mostly using Google Play Music or Songza over Bluetooth. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
I believe you have to log into your entune account, on your pc, and associate your account with each app, before you can use them.
Thanks, I did that all from the app on my phone though. I logged in online just to check and it was the same, it said all my accounts were linked and signed in already. I've already given up on it, but was wondering if anyone else was having problems with it after the update too.
I think you have to use the iHeartRadio for Auto app. Here's the Google Play link: iHeartRadio for Auto - Android Apps on Google Play
From my understanding, the service is routed through the Entune suite of apps, and as long as the account is registered through Toyota Entune, the app doesn't even have to be on your phone. That's how I'm using Pandora, if/when I use Pandora, which isn't often because their mixes aren't very varied and their ads suck, and I don't have the app on my phone. Also, the iHeartRadio for Auto is supposed to be another interface with bigger buttons and less cluttered UI for use during driving. Thanks for the suggestion though, doesn't seem like anyone else is having this problem or has read this.
I did the update today and same problem. Pandora and Slacker work gr8 but iheartradio doesnt work. It crashes after loading config. I have a 2015 Prius and Samsung Galaxy Note5. Also have a 2013 Prius v where my dealer installed the update. It worked on that one... Any suggestions? (Iheartradio for Auto is not the answer because entune shouldn't need additional apps on your phone)
Toyota says the app works fine and is blaming my phone, my phone cord, my operating system. They are not standing behind the piece of crap software. It should be called "CrapTune" or "Entrails".
It's not at all straightforward. Here's what works for me. Get iHeart and Slacker accounts online. Start the Entune app and disconnect from car immediately via DISCONNECT at bottom of screen. Then hit "Reconnect to your vehicle now" AND QUICKLY hit the iHeart (or Slacker) icon at bobbin of screen. A screen will appear showing Nav, Personalize, and Link options. Under Link, tap whatever you want to link. Way too hard and unobtrusive. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
