New to the forum (and new Prius owner--a 2001 given to my wife and I by her sister). Apologize in advance if this thread is posted in wrong place (first gen questions seem to go in Gen II section)?! Car is great but radio does not work. Initially suspected a fuse but saw that the fuses that coordinate with the radio also relate to other things that are still working--checked them anyway and they look okay. Clock works, CD player works (but no sound). Radio/tape section won't power on. Sister-in-law had work done on AC and said radio quit like a month later--I'm thinking possibly a wiring connection may have been compromised when they took the dash apart or something. Sound possible or any other thoughts? Any ideas on trouble shooting or fixing? Thank you!
It's certainly possible that a loose wiring harness connection is present. If you can get back behind the radio then you can check for a loose connection. Repair manual info can be found at techinfo.toyota.com which is a subscription website. That will increase the likelihood that you can get into the dash without breaking something. Alternatively you could find a local auto stereo shop in your area and ask for help. Good luck.
Hi Just bought prius 2008. There is few radio channeles alreday tuned in it on 1-6 no but i would like to add diffrent channeles as i am in london uk and have plenty of channel here any one can help me how can i add (replace ) with old channel. Many thanks in advance.
1. Select the radio band that you want to use: AM, FM1 and FM2 are choices in North America. Therefore up to 12 FM stations and 6 AM stations can be stored. 2. Tune the radio to a radio station that you want to save by using the seek function. 3. Depress the icon for the channel where you want to store that station. Hold, until the frequency reading changes to correspond to the newly saved station.
