My gut is telling me return the extended maintenance plan that I purchased with my 2015 Prius C Two. It cost $1400.00. It extends the free maintenance out to 6 years....so an additional 4 years is added to the 2 year maintenance/service plan that comes with the new car. My concerns are many. First they have my money for two years...before I will even begin to think about using the plan. I don't know for sure, but think that this additional 4 years must be accomplished at the dealership from which I purchased the plan, unlike the first 2 years which is at any Toyota dealership. Any input would be appreciated!

$1400 for an extended maintenance plan is a monumental rip-off.
With all of the unnecessary maintenance that they will be recommending that's not covered by this "service" they could make a huge profit by giving it away for free - which is exactly why the first two years are.......free.
Any coverage that's limited to one specific dealership instead of any Toyota dealership is almost certainly a scam.

I would immediately and firmly demand a full refund.
I would also advise them that any request that I get from Toyota to rate the dealership on your purchase "experience" will suffer from any delay in my refund and apology.
Yes.....they owe you one of those too.

I would also put them on notice that they're being actively monitored by name at a forum with over 100,000 members and that they should be content to make a good profit without resorting to 1970's GM dealership tactics.

Be very careful about letting them work on your car and familiarize yourself with WHAT IS REQUIRED by the schedule of maintenance for your car (hint: it's not much!)
Anything that's not on this schedule isn't maintenance....it's a repair.

Repairs require an explanation and a second opinion.

    Refund?
    Oh heck yes.

    Before Supper!!!

    a quick little bit of math: $1400 / 8 services = $175 per service

you said you got an additional 4 years worth of free service, which are about every 6 months, so 4 years x 2 services per year = 8. now most times they just change oil, check tires (maybe rotate them), check fluids etc. most shops would charge you $50.00 at most for this, so if you kept up with twice a year at 4 years would be $400.00 in short, if this agreement is just for maintenance service you got screwed.

I'm sure there's more to it.

I paid approximately $1k for my extended plan, but it included a true bumper-to-bumper, including aesthetic damage (e.g leather damage and minor dents) plus all of the devices in the vehicle (e.g. touchscreen, camera, etc). It was totally comprehensive. I made them give me pretty much everything, including loan payoff, except car washes, which I soon realized were free with every oil change anyway. The cost was less than $20/month.

I paid $299 to extend my service two additional years. (It was a special they were running at the time.) That also included extension of roadside assistance.

I returned the plan to Cavender Toyota, in San Antonio, TX the very next day. They said it would take 8 to 10 weeks and they would send the money to the lien holder on the car. I kept checking and finally they acknowledged that the paperwork had not been submitted. It ended up taking another 10 weeks. So in the end I paid interest on the $1400.00 extended maintenance plan for almost 6 months. They apologized, when they discovered that the paperwork had never been submitted, but then after telling me it would be taken care of ASAP...it took another 2 and half months for the money to be refunded to the lien holder. I stopped dealing with Cavender Toyota and have since used other dealerships to do the "free" services. I used them for two service visits and I won't even go into the smoke and mirrors scam job they went through. One issue would have been as simple to explain that the car sat on the lot for a year and half and the battery in the key needed to be replaced. Instead he spent 45 minutes trying to show me that I could lock the car from an acceptable distance from the car. This was most certainly not true. After all that, it took me a while to realize it was simply a battery replacement that was needed. Every time I have dealt with Toyota Service it has been all about convincing me there was no problem, rather than just doing the simple fix or telling me how to do it.
