I've been saying this here for about 12 months but now GasBuddy is too: Lowest Gas Prices in Over 12 Years Hit Midwest - Gasbuddy Gas Prices “As gasoline supply continues to bulge, prices continue to shrink,” says Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy. “Wholesale gasoline prices in the Midwest have lost more than half of their value since the beginning of the year and prices at the pump haven’t fully reflected that yet. Incredible as it sounds, we wouldn’t be shocked to see a few stations in these states as low as 99 cents a gallon.”
so far, you've been spot on. pretty soon, they'll be paying us to take the gas from them, and charging us to keep our money in the bank. but no worries, the economy is fine.
A real benefit I've been able to have recently is that I shop at a store that allows you to build up "gas points" for reduced price on gasoline. With my Prius, I go long enough usually between fill-ups to build up quite a reduction. So lately, my fill-ups have been very close to $1.00 a gallon. I honestly don't expect it to last forever, but it's nice for now.
$1.27 today. GREAT time to own a Prius!!! Even BETTER time to buy a Prius.... (especially a <$20,000 G3!!!)
$2.70 per gallon in California! .... And we consider that pretty cheap. I am jelly of others... iPhone ?
$1.34 near me at a Murphy Gas which has a 5 cent discount with a Walmart card, so $1.29 for me, best case.
Here in Cali, we will never see $1/gal gas... If it gets too cheap, the Legislature will just raise taxes on fuel, cause we are used to paying more.
Or there will be another "explosion" due to "lack of maintenance at the refineries." Filled up at $2.179 this week, cheapest available in Orange County (hooray Costco).
