What year is the best Prius to mod for mpg, power and handling? ?

    I am thinking about purchasing a prius , however I am not sure which year to get. Which year is easiest to mod? Which year has the ability to have the most mods performed on it? I am talking dash, display, power, handling, extra battery pack etc....
