If there was a 58 mpg sticker on it,they probably have been reading the threads here and know by now that the 52 mpg rating is way underrated ! :cool:It's definitely a Touring model because it has the 17" tires.I don't know if this has been asked before, but how is the light output of the new LED fog lights?Having them switched on in gen. 3 ,at least in European models, makes more or less no difference. You can hardly tell if they are turned on or not !LED fog lights in gen. 4 should do better !

On 3rd gen the fog lights are not LED. They're very weak output too.

For your info European fellows, it seems that this beloved car will have very different set of options (and price) depending of the country you buy it.
So thanks to the Europe with capital E (at least one positive thing in all that political mess) it is very easy to buy your Prius in another country and import it in yours.
I guess that all is not possible (or just not interesting for our wallet) but in my case, I am from Belgium, i bought a VERY VERY good bargain Prius 2 in the Netherlands a bit more than 200 km from home, and all in one, the international import procedure cost me around 200 euro and 2 half days in offices, garage and official car inspection to validate it was respecting the Belgian laws.

And it was not at all difficult, I was actually very surprised that the procedure only had a few steps and was not at all considered as an extraterrestrial foolish wish.

It is not often that it is actually interesting, but for instance, it seems that the eco version will not be available in Belgium or France, so be sure that if I want it, I will be able to plan my holidays in Germany or Poland if needed.

10 years of incredible driving pleasure with a beloved car worth a few more kilometres and bucks ;-)

Oh and sorry for my pidgin English ;-)

In Croatia import costs a bit more, about 1,300$ for a used Prius since we are in the EU but don't have Schengen. It's actually quite popular to import cars from Italy, Germany and so on and sell them here. Actually, mine spent first four years in Italy :D

Yes there will be differences, but in general the top versions usaly get all the bells and whistles, but then this is Toyota we are talking about and you never know !
Why does Toyota think that customers in Switzerland would appreciate a sun roof ( we in Germany certainly would !) and in Belgium or UK they wouldn't !?
They do seem to think that British people obviously would like an 8-way adjustable power seat and wifi-Hotspot however but not customers in other European countries.

Yeah I tought about this too .
Probably rains too much there !
Ok I know of course that Prius is about weight,so I am hoping since we never had power seats in Germany, the weight saving that comes in with that will give Toyota the opportunity to give us the sun roof .
I very much like the new Prius, but I would hate giving up my sun roof !

No as I said,I mean the fog lights .
DRLs are just there to make the car more visible at distances during daytime for other drivers or pedestrians, they are not ment to put out a great amount of light, while real fog lights are there to put out extra light infront of the vehicle driving through really bad weather and especially fog .
In Germany we are not allowed to switch them on unless the visibility conditions go down to under 50 meters .

I don't find the NAV to be all the friendly, usable, or helpful. I already have not been able to find some addresses or POI's either. I've already switched back to using an iPhone mount and using nav apps from for iOS.

So I would have to give the NAV a thumbs down also. Plus it looks decades old as far as graphics, etc.

Funny.. I accidentally drove home last night (about 40 miles) in heavy rain on my DRL the whole time. It wasn't until I pulled over to take my jacket off that I realized I forgot to switch it back to AUTO from when I was parked temporarily waiting for company to arrive.

So that's how bright these LEDs are - the DRL's actually didn't throw me off on night rain driving. but obviously so much brighter and nicer once I went to full low beam light.

Congrats on the new car! Sounds like you are very pleased with it. However, it's seems like you way over paid for the extended warranty. $5K is about 4 times what most people pay. Even if that included all scheduled maintenance, it still seems excessively high. You can have the price fully refunded if it has been less than 30 days, and a pro-rated amount after that. I'm on my 5th Toyota (2016 Highlander Hybrid) and have never had a problem that an extended warranty would have covered.

That is our local Toyota dealer but it a common practice in Alabama. Southeast Toyota is notorious for adding 'port charges' for useless bling.

$1300 was due to taxes in Croatia, what our Belgian friend was talking about were homologation prices which we also have but are less. We can also buy brand new vehicle from Netherlands and pay same taxes as if we bought it from Croatian dealers + €100 fee for homologation papers.

All countries have their own Toyota distributors usually owned by Toyota Motor Marketing Europe (TMME). They all order their Prii from Toyota factory based on what they consider would be optimal for their market. Larger markets (for Toyota) usually get more options.

When it comes to Europe and what people are buying in various countries, there is no such thing as unified European market. People preferences vastly differ from country to country, I guess only similar ones are Germanic countries like Germany/Austria/Swiss, while all others are very different. And of course, Toyota does the worst by marketshare in Germany/Austria/Swiss so those markets might not get all the options that ones that sell many cars do, it is a logistic thing (ie stocking 100 different unique Prii model configurations when they sell 2000 total per year). Just consider factory options + equipment packages + exterior colors + interior colors.
