What did you do to ur Gen III Prius today????

Super rough install of these cheap vinyl seat covers. When I have some time I plan to pull the seats up and secure everything with better clips.

Out of the box these are pretty wrinkled, instructions said they'll smooth out with regular use so, I guess we will see.

As far as generic seat covers go, not bad for $25

Picked up a Yellow Top Optima Battery!


OEM Battery: 28.40lbs VS Optima Battery 27.60lbs

Actually thought that these Batteries weigh less than stock Just make sure you remove the carrying strap to ensure a good fit.

 

I ordered them through Thmotorsports.com. They seem to have some of the better prices, however they can be hard to find on the site, so here's a link. Also, check out my install instructions for some tips.

 

LOL, I actually just put one of these in to my wife's 2007 Prius last weekend and wish someone reminded me of this. Tried to bolt that bracket with the fuses and connects to the red connector, and was wondering why it wasn't fitting so well. Ended up cutting the carrying strap off because I didn't want to disconnect the vents again to pull the battery out.

 

Finished up sound dampening project, all 4 doors and trunk floor.. very happy with results. Car doesn't have the annoying "gong" anymore!

Amount of material used which was far from maximum was 30 sq. ft.

 

I kinda want to do the same in my prii. How much quieter is it on the freeway?

 

I tried to use a decibel app to try and measure it but data didn't support what I noticed.

Here's a video to show the difference. I used Peel and Seal which I'm pretty certain is the same as the stuff they sell, and got the result as shown. With what's depicted, imagine all 4 doors not resonating. That's the main difference I notice, car doesn't go "gong" anymore. The car feels more solid isn't a rattle can.

A the same time, I replaced by 6 stock speakers. Amazing that those paper cones and little magnets produced the sound it did. It's a great time to do both these mods at once since the door panels are off.

Does the rear spoiler come with the weather stripping now. I had a little leakage with mine, so we added it just like the stock one and problem was solved. But I do wash my car a lot....
