I assume the "New Car Features" will be available between Sept 8, and November when product begins. I have found "New Car Features" to be one of the best sources of hard information on the car. Meanwhile, I'll be monitoring SAE for Toyota papers. If someone should be at the Sept 8 reveal, this would be the question I would raise.

Also, if they have the engineering model like this:

Oh. I didn't even notice the engine for the longest time; I was distracted by Patrick.

    So the engine will be at least 40% efficient. The next tech I am curious about;

With Nimh patent expirations, I wonder if Toyota beefed up the battery of the regular Prius, can't wait to see what they put in Gen IV.

Toyota's top suppliers prepare a tech blitz

Seems like the only thing on the list for Gen IV is the improved regen braking!

The "New Car Features" would be great source, although they never coverd every detail.
And I think the "TOYOTA Electronic Parts Catalog System" could be another supplementary reference.

I have checked the program list of JSAE 2015 Autumn Congress and 24th Aachen Colloquium,
seems no related "big news" there, except the development of New ESTEC 2GR-FKS/FXS will be presented.

I would expect most of the tech papers come out 2016 spring:
    JSAE 2016 Spring Congress
    SAE 2016 World Congress
Vol.2016 Toyota Technical Review (there were special sections for Prius Gen. 3 in Vol. 2010 and Mirai in Vol. 2015)

Anybody checked on techinfo lately to see if the NCFM is there yet?

bump ... if they're showing up in dealers now, maybe someone has seen if the NCFM is on TIS yet?

Since the cars are actually getting into owner hands, has anyone checked to see if "New Car Features" is online?

    Thanks,
    Bob Wilson

How does the ECO 2 get better mpg vs std Gen 4
Weight of rear wiper and wind drag can't up mpg by that much?

There is also no spare and Li-ion battery for weight savings. Then it has a tire with even lower rolling resistance than the rest of the line up with a higher recommended tire pressure setting.

Surely there's gotta be somebody around this forum who has recently, or is about to, sign into techinfo to look something else up, with an extra moment to glance around and see whether the 2016 New Car Features Manual is there yet ...

Or even somebody from Toyota checking on this forum who would know the answer ...

    I can always hope ...

Perhaps @Patrick Wong might know. I've never used the service, I bought the paper manuals. But come Friday, I'll sign up for the weekend and see what I can find. If they are there, I'll scrunch everything I can find. Wish @Prius Team could let us know if it will be worth while.

Thank you! That could get 4mpg more due to those removals, LRR rubber at higher pressure, and lower weight. I would assume removal of all floor mats, manuals, & only one person on board.

Seems like everyone who has a 2016 Prius, no matter what model, is getting well over 50 mpg. Even Road & Track Magazine, March 2016,
they averaged in real mpg, 56 mpg, in a 2016 Prius 4. That is unheard of mpg's for a car magazine, never seen anything like that...

This is hell for me: love the mpg achievement, hate the exterior and interior design decisions.
