Im looking to buy a used prius+ 2013 years model and it has been used as a taxi for 32 000 miles. It looks great on the in- and outside when i went to see it. It is now for sale at 15166,89 USD at the dealer. the scheduled maintenance of the car has not been followed and it has only been given new oil and filters 5 times. I Count to 12 visits, if they would have followed toyotas recommendations. I don't know if it matters that the car is as new as 2013? What do you guys Think?
In the US oil is changed every 10,000 miles assuming it was the 0-20 full synthetic. That would be three changes for 32,000 miles. Perhaps "taxi" service is considered severe which mean more changes. You are sure it only has 32,000 miles?
Five changes in 125,000 is one every 25k, not so good for sure. You are totally out of any warranty, extended, hydrid or whatever so I think the price is way too high, at least by US standards, especially with the oil change issue. I would expect it needs other maintenance also like engine and inverter coolant, transmission oil, brakes, etc. These hydrid systems are expensive to fix so with questionable maintenance and low gas prices right now, I might move on to something with less miles.
I have a 2013+ and love it but w so few oil changes I would pass. Plus how does the underside look. I could see a car load of people and luggage in a plus scraping in speed bump and driveway situations. The Plus is pricey new. Mine came w everything available for the year and cost me a whopping 37k not a typo. Luckily it was 0% financing for 5 yrs. does it have the allow wheels? Are they scuffed up?
Its a european version of Prius v (lowercase v for the Prius v wagon) im looking at, they are called prius+ (plus). It's the seven seater. It has alloys both summer and Winter, and the business package w/ backup cam, panoramic sunroof etc.
