Hello I live in Oregon & my husband & I are looking at purchasing our first hybrid. In Oregon these cars move very quickly - we are looking at a 1 owner ( purchased in Oregon ) 2007 with 83,00 miles from a dealer & their are asking $ 10,490 - the guy who owned it works there. The price seems ver high as we missed out on a 2008 with 78,000 miles that they were asking $9988. Would it be better to negotiate a price first before taking it to a mechanic, so as to not waste our time & money on a pre inspection if we can't come to an agreeable number. Any advice would be appreciated - I know all cars are negotiable!
you need to find out if it's package one or two. both are considered base, but pkg one is only from fleet cars.
I know market dictates the price but that wouldn't sell for more than about $7500 in my location. You really need to know what options are on it. When people list 2007s they usually just list as base or as touring because those were the only model options they had.
Thank you, I can't figure out how to cut & paste - but it is listed at GMC Buick in Beaverton OR. Maybe you could check it out & let me know your thoughts ? Thank You Thanks for the info - I can't figure out to cut & paste the car here. It's listed at GMC Buick in Beaverton OR If you want to check it out I would appreciate any help ?
It's a Touring pkg 5. Id use that description on their website and get a kbb estimate. I looked it up...suggested retail $9318, fair purchase price $8813. It's a higher end Prius but you should get them down on that price. Good luck. Let us know if you get it.
Used 2007 Driftwood Pearl Toyota Prius For Sale in Oregon | JTDKB20U677675158 I bought a 09 for the wife with 110K miles same options for $8500 in St. George UT. But regional prices varies. I think you should offer a price thats satisfactory for you. Price which you will pay and no more. Econo car sales are slow now compared to trucks and Suvs because of the low price of gasoline.
Passed on this car the dealership was firm on the price. Such low inventory & high demand in Oregon - Today I found a 2008 with 103,000 for $8995 the guy thought is was a Prius II - in Oregon I would get a warranty to 150,000 miles or 10 years I think I might drive this one ??
Keep an eye in the private sales section on this site. Take a road trip to get a good deal. As cheap as gas is right now the only cost would be a little more time.
Ellie, don't guess on the packages. Download the sales brochures for 2006-2009. The packages changed over the years and the Touring added to the confusion. You should get two fobs and the retractable cover with the car. Mats were an accessory usually sold with the car.
go to the forums page, down near the bottom, under the 'prius marketplace' heeding, you'll see the 'private sales' forum.
