    Hey guys!

I wanted to ask all of you guys about how I should order my Prius.

(Yes. I know I'm a salesman for Toyota, but I face the same dilemmas)

I know I want a 2016 Prius in Hypersonic Red with Black interior but the problem is is what package. I must have a Moonroof in what ever car I get. It makes me feel less claustrophobic inside.

Knowing that should I get a 4 with ATP and PCP (even though I don't care about the HUD)

    -or-

Get a 4T with PCP and add an aftermarket moonroof (because of the LED Fog Lamps and wheels)

Is there anyone else making the same decision? What would you do?

what's the deal with aftermarket moonroof on the gen4? previously, they have been few and far between.

Our aftermarket company had some done to the 3rd gen when we had people ask for them, but I know they won't be ready for the 4th Gen for a month or two.

Would never get an aftermarket sunroof. Pretty sure it'd be on par with a collision history, regarding trade-in value, and for good reason.

Are you SURE you need a sunroof? They reduce headroom. We had one, it was "nice", but meh. Never miss 'em.

To add to that, the roof without moonroof can have the internal reinforcements arranged differently than the one with the moonroof. Installing an aftermarket one could mean cutting through those reinforcements, and weaken the roof in the event of a roll over or piano falling on the car.

Swapping in the LED driving lamps should be straight forward, if a little tedious to get any intervening pieces out of the way for the install.

The wheels would be a simple swap, but the slight differences in the suspension between the touring and regular trim might mean a difference in ride feel when done.

I'd never do without an HUD, if available as an option in a car. You have no idea how much better it is to actually keep the eyes on the road with your speed shown in front of your eyes at the right focal distance (meaning you read the information without need of the eye refocusing between near/far).

FWIW I'd go with the 4 because:
    • I'd want the HUD
    • The fog lamps apparently aren't really fog lamps
    • I regard the 17" wheels as a net downgrade
    • If I was having a moon roof I'd much rather it be OEM
    Your priorities may be different

Energyandair's bullet points sum up the car to have IMO. I would do 4+atp+pcp, later buy the "clearance lamps" posing as "fog lamps" on ebay, and a set of wheels as in the photo below.

I have a 3rd Gen with 17" (Prius 5 wheels) but prefer this 4th Gen with 15" to maximize the mpg. If they are not round, they are not fog lamps! :D

HUD is coool! Thanks to BigFan: 2016 Heads up Display | PriusChat

I am a bonafide Cruise Control lover and user. In my case, cruise control is used in nearly every driving situation. Though I have yet to experience "all speed control" down to zero MPH, any Prius I would buy must have Radar Cruise Control, I value it that much. In that case, vehicle speed is very tightly controlled and I have little need to monitor the MPH constantly. Coupled with the large, full color, full screen Nav display with voice commands, HUD is suddenly not very important. For me, HUD is more of a novelty item and a conversation piece.

My ultimate Gen4 build would be a 4T/PCP, opting for the LED Fog & Clearance Lights, JBL/Greenedge, and the beautiful, unique 17" wheels and 45 series tires - forgoing the HUD and the Moonroof. I long for the day when I see the 17" wheel inserts color keyed to Hypersonic Red on those black rims, and with black (looking) tinted glass.

All red and black? I guess i need to settle on the black interior - my hardest decision. I wonder how hard it will be to color key all of the interior bathroom fixtures?

Another Okie (like me) who values cruise control and uses it right.

+1 with all who voted for the 4+ATP+PCP. I too had to make the same decision and moonroof+HUD trumped 17". BTW, IMO the car looks gorgeous in HR / Black (though others may be shocked that I didn't chose Harvest Beige when I had a choice :p).

Love my 2012 four so not looking to get a gen 4, but if I did get one it would ideally be the 4+ATP+PCP. I like the idea of the sunroof and the heads up display. The 17" wheels might improve the handling but that is supposedly already better on the 4 anyways, and I wouldn't get them if they hurt MPG. I would want the upgraded sound system too, and I don't particularly care about fog lights. It's interesting how we all have different tastes and things we consider important

I have a picture that I attached of the Console and Shifter Applique and it makes a HUGE difference getting away from the bathroom fixture like look...

I almost like it enough to get that... although that touch of white is unique
