Tom Cruise is coming to Aberdeen, WA today to attend a private showing of "Mission Impossible: 3" at the Southshore mall. Someone won a contest and gets to invite 150 friends to the showing. Its ridiculous how they are kissing his butt, they made the mall look nice with flowers and stuff outside; I havent seen it looking that good since... its never looked good. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/6420AP...e_Aberdeen.html
Moron, idiot, nothing quite seems to be enough for this guy. I tend to start associating him with the likes of Michael Jackson these days.
I'll admit it....I was a huge Tom Cruise fan! Loved him in Risky Business. He grew up in NJ like me. He is the same age as me. I went to everyone of his movies. I even really liked Eyes Wide Shut. But, since Scientology is a cult, and learning more about it from reading Rolling Stones Magazine and watching South Park's Scientology episode (OK, and internet researching), I cannot in good faith go see a movie with him in it anymore. It pisses me off that I can't go see him anymore. Stupid Scientology.

Okay, call me crazy. I've never been a HUGE TC fan, but I have liked most of the movies he's in. However, I don't get the vitriole directed toward him. No, I'm not a scientologist, and yes, he was a bit of an nice person to Matt Lauer, and yes, Scientology seems odd to me (the agnostic raised in a Protestant family), but I don't understand why he's the subject of such bitterness. It seems that people rag on him more because he happens to be stupidly in love and not afraid to show it. What's the hubbub, bub? Or is this my optimistic, rose-colored glasses view? And I think the Michael Jackson comparison is totally off-base. Unlike Jacko, he hasn't disfigured his face for some vision of beauty that only HE sees...however, the tabloid hoopla is turning him into the same kinda weirdness. The whole tabloid story about the placenta could have been straight out of Neverland Ranch. I just don't get it...
Anyone else notice in the preview how he flies the worng way when the car behind him explodes? He's running away from the explosion, but gets thrown sideways into the car? Bad. Tom Cruise is a nutcase.
We all hate Tom because he killed Oprah. And as everyone knows, Scientologists are actually Sith lords in training.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(livelychick @ May 9 2006, 09:31 PM) </div> I find it odd that anyone would let what an actor does in his or her "real" life affect how good of an actor they are or affect if they would watch said actor. Short of criminally reprehensible behaviour...I say let them alone.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Schmika @ May 9 2006, 09:47 PM) </div> Thank you. I agree.
Actors should be allowed to do whatever (legally) they want. However, when they choose to put their beliefs out on the table, whether they're a conservative Charlton Heston or a liberal Susan Sarandon, they risk alienating (or even offending) some of their fans.

But, like any religion, it should be a personal thing. Just believe in it, or not, and keep it to yourself. Don't bring it out into the limelight. I believe in Separation of Church and State and Seperation of Church and Everything Else! I'm just not going to give him any of my money. I'll spend it on my car!
Tom Cruise has made many excellent movies. He's brought great entertainment to millions of people. I think he deserves a little respect. So what if he's not perfect. No one is. Give the guy a break!
The people who hate actors because of thier religion must hate musicians who are gay. When you found out your favorite singer from the 80's was gay did you stop listening to the music? If an actor is proud of his beliefs then so be it. He's not knocking on your door or calling to recruit you. We have a right to say what we want. And he has. So if you don't like him any more and feel you can no longer watch his movies than don't. But now you're knocking on my door about it.
