I just test drove a Prius 4 with ATP at my local dealership in the bay area today and it was amazing. I especially loved the HUD. I am interested in getting a trim 4 with ATP and PCP. The dealer looked up all the inventory that is coming in for CA and said all trim 4's are shipping with ATP only. I would have to order one with both ATP and PCP and it would take up to 60 days to arrive.

I am interested in getting PCP only for the audio. I don't really care about safety connect. I made the dealer insert a CD and crank up the volume but it did not sound as good as my 2010 Prius with JBL audio.

Does anyone who has Entune with JBL on other Toyota cars think it is better than the standard Toyota stereo? Ideally I would like to compare two cars with and without JBL speakers, but the dealer didn't have any.

I'm with you. Seems like Prius owners are naturals for upgraded electronics and audio. It's the only thing I want in the PCP package. They should have made that part of it standard on the 4 models and raised the base price a little. Instead they seem to be making the PCP hard to get.

Northern CA didn't order any Prius 4 with PCP and supposedly we won't get any for awhile (longer than 60 days) according to the regional reps.

The JBL sound is WAY better than it was before and I agree is something that I think should've been a part of either the ATP or just standard on a 4

A few things I noticed compared to my 2010

    Pros
    • Biggest difference was the seats, they have more cushioning and are more comfortable.
    • There is no hole for battery ventilation near the rear right seat anymore. That is a pro in my book.
    • I like that the gear shifter has gone back to to original position. I always liked it better there.
    • The ride felt much smoother. I was glad I could not feel all the tiny bumps of the road.
    • Touch screen response time was much better.
    Cons
    • No upper storage compartment on the right side of the dash. The lower storage compartment felt very small compared to my 2010.
    • The center storage door opens towards the front passenger side making it difficult for the passenger to access it. Not sure why this was changed.
    • I don't like the white accents in the dash.
    • Rear armrests that have cup holders does not touch the bottom of the seat anymore but hangs in the air. Maybe that will cause it to break easily?

Very happy to hear this. That was the main thing I was hoping for with the new suspension compared to my 2010. Hope it's a little quiter, too.

I just got mine with both ATP and PCP. I really like the sound of the stereo and the music controls are improved - don't know if that is part of the pkg or not.

As an FYI, if I change to an LA area zip code on Toyota's website, is shows both ATP and PCP as options. It shows only ATP for a bay area zip code. Thats a bad move on toyota's part.

My theory on this situation is that if you feel that you will use the features, then go ahead and splurge. When you are spending $30K+ on a vehicle, $1500 doesn't really impact my buying decision. I look at it as splitting hairs at this point.

BTW, what's another 60 days? Is there something compelling that is driving you to move sooner than later or is it just emotional where you have to get it now?

It's part of the package. You get the JBL GreenEdge Audio system with 10 GreenEdge speakers.

Nothing compelling. Im gonna hold off on buying until I get the options I want. The dealer said he doesn't know when a 4 with atp and pcp will ship to the bay area.

Buy it from Diane and drive it home! It's what, 2 hours away?

Personally I don't listen to the radio or music when I drive. I drive. But I know others like their audio! Heck, I've never used my fancy audio system in Pearl S. ;)

Make a call to a couple of the big LA dealers, I'm sure you can get one in less than 60 days. It's only a short flight and a nice ride home........
