Fabric versus SofTex is a personal preference. Advanced-technology package sounds useful though. If dealers are already giving $2,000+ off MSRP for a brand-new model, this is great. $27,000 doesn't sound too bad with the advanced-technology package.
What is your point? That is the quoted price I received in writing from the dealership. Yes if you do the math and subtract the $835 Delivery, Processing, and Handling from the dealer quoted price it is slightly (~$30) below invoice (hence the reason I had the dealer put it in writing). Again, my point is other interested buyers should look for pricing well below MSRP, assuming my dealership is not some strange anomaly.
"Boy how times have changed" When 2nd Gen first came out dealers had long waiting lists and were charging $1,000-$3,000 over msrp! The 4th Gen isn't even out and dealers are already selling at below dealer cost.
It could be a combination of low gas prices and dealer incentives (holdbacks), but purely speculation on my part. I placed an order on a Gen-2 Prius in October 2004 and finally settled on a slightly different vehicle in April of 2005, so yes a lot has apparently changed.
Gasoline prices set record AAA says average per gallon prices tops $1.738 per gallon, edging mark set last August. March 23, 2004: 2:52 PM EST NEW YORK (CNNfn) - The average price of gasoline at the pump has hit a record high of $1.738 a regular self-serve gallon, according to the Automobile Association of America. The record high on AAA's daily Fuel Gauge Report surpasses the previous record, $1.737, hit last August. The average climbed 0.7 cent overnight. California leads the nation at $2.141 a gallon for regular gas, followed by Hawaii at $2.111 and Nevada at $2.057. Those looking for cheap gas might stop in Oklahoma for fuel at $1.604 a gallon, Georgia at $1.607 and South Carolina also at $1.607 a gallon. -- Today (12 years later) Gasbuddy is reporting the lowest price in NJ is $1.61, the local price is $1.69, and the average is $1.83. Manufacturers have also increased their invoice pricing to make it appear that the poor dealer doesn't make anything on the car. Pricing below invoice is so common Toyota slapped a gag order on dealers advertising below invoice pricing.
Noticed that the remote engine starter is not available on the Two Eco or Three Touring, at least not in my area. I can understand it not being available for the Two Eco, but the Three Touring? It's available for the Three, Four, and Four Touring...
If you are just building to see what the package/price combos are, use a fake zip code.I am showing nothing in NC, but if I use 90210, tons of options come up. Best of luck.
Thanks for the tip. Tried several nearby zips and could not build Prius 4 with Blizzard Pearl, Harvest Beige Softex, and ATP+PCP package. Using 90210 I could. In fact, the ATP+PCP is the only package offered with those selections. Weird. Guess I'll have to go to California to get what I want. But seriously, it appears they in fact do offer the combination I want. Does that mean the dealer here could order it?
In NJ the BP is available on a Four with the AT Package ($1935). It is not available with the $3640 AT Pack with options (which includes PCP). The $3640 AT package says it is available in only 3 colors: light blue, gray & silver. The Region orders the cars & allocates them to their dealers. It doesn't hurt to ask.
The car I wanted was - Prius 4 - Hypersonic Red - Premium Convenience Package Here's where it gets weird. Yesterday, I was trying to build my car and it said I could not get a Prius 4, Hypersonic Red, with PCP. It insisted that I could only get a Prius 4 with PCP in Midnight Black. Just now, it insists that I can only get a Prius 4 with PCP in Blue Crush Metallic. What the huh?
2 choices: ATP alone or ATP with Options (PCP) New Cars, Trucks, SUVs & Hybrids | Toyota Official Site
Actually there are three choices if you consider no ATP (the default) as another choice. There are two options (ATP and ATP with PCP). A minor point.
Toyoata.com build and price appears to have been updated. It will now let me build a four with Blizzard Pearl, Harvest Beige Softex, with ATP "and options" which is the combo ATP+PCP package, which is what I want. Previously, it offered ATP and PCP separately, but PCP was not available for that combo. PCP by itself is no longer shown as an option. You can get ATP or ATP+PCP but not PCP without ATP.
And the 2016 is still not on Toyota.ca. It's in a "banner" where it says, "it's coming, it's great!" I guess they are not in any hurry, too much 2015 stock, still very winter, fuel still way too cheap, or whatever.
