In my new/used Prius, this panel is attached on the top end by black duct tape. Can someone take a look at this on their Prius and tell me how it's supposed to be attached? This might not be worth fixing, since I only noticed it when looking at the cabin air filter. But if the panel is the problem (broken tabs or something like that) and cheap, I might add it to my order from toyota parts cheap.
I took off the duct tape, and it looks like someone didn't know how to snap that piece back in. It was hanging from the tabs instead of snapped in. I just moved it a bit and snapped it in. Here's a photo of it hanging instead of snapped in. Unless someone sees another piece missing here, it looks good. Microsoft OneDrive - Access files anywhere. Create docs with free Office Online.
Under my criteria after owning 4 Prii from 2004 'til today, there are 2 glove boxes on the hatchback, an upper and lower oner. I can't even imagine who can take the trouble to put a piece of tape in order to fasten one of this storage container as a means of a fix.
Ha Ha, the original owner seems fastener challenged. The fuse box under the hood was not snapped closed correctly. The cabin air filter cover was not snapped closed correctly. And a clip from the lowest part of the front of a wheel well to the front bumper cover was loose because the clip was on the wrong side.
