But it still looks like a typical "dated" Chevy on the inside with the exception of the display screens. Look at all of the knobs, buttons, etc.

Yes... GM loves that Delco Electronics look, but it's not as bad as other GM vehicles, since there aren't as many knobs to mess things up...That Navigation Screen looks gorgeous though... Reminds me of an iPhone Display...

The only reason I choose a prius over the volt is because of the space in the V. If I didn't need that space volt was no brainer I try the volt it is a fun and fast car to drive very luxurious more confortable....

Reading the detailed press release, two things stung me:
    1. All the technical niceties appear to deliver very little in the way of better fuel efficiency or better performance. What improvement there is appears to come from the new platform, not the distinctive Prius stuff.
    2. The infotainment toys, especially in the Two, are unimpressive.
Has anyone addressed this elephant in the room: In the first week of 2016, the two dealers nearest me have no Gen-4s in stock, and a total of only 4 leftover `15 Gen-3s. After all the previous delays--W T F ?

Is there some problem that makes management afraid to put Gen-4s in the hands of customers?

    `Just sayin'.

    1. On paper, maybe. But the media seems to be able to exceed the EPA numbers easily, which is rare
    2. When is a base model ever in the forefront of infotainment? Maybe in Europe but you're gonna pay a pretty penny for that added equipment as standard. This allows TMS to have a lower entry price and allow customers to choose the options they want (within the confines of packages and trim levels).

Agreed, Stephane, but your Prius V looks gorgeous nonetheless!

Yea I really love it but but notint is perfect....tech package is really outdated I see people in US complain entune is bad but here in Canada we dont even have entune so no app no internet connection niet voice recognition is absolutely useless .... and for the fun factor the V is a very big set down from volt. I give away my Porshe 911 and a civic hybrid for a one do it all car the V is way better than my civic but it is a utility car no fun. The volt was a nice toy the closest to replace both but I need extra space :( can't have it all

Dont get me wrong my adult brain really love the V but my heartbeat is on the volt, I give Chevy a 5 stars for that car

Agreed, the new Volt is great, and wouldn't complain if I had the new one :)

As my `06 Civic is nearing 300k mi., I have to consider a car buy soon. Among the possibles I am aware of is the Scion iA, which is essentially a re-badged new-generation Mazda 2. Toyota has configured it with a softer suspension and a quieter exhaust than Mazda would have done. It comes with either the best working manual transmission I have ever experienced or a six-speed (non-CVT!) automatic, as well as 16" wheels. Look at the infotainment setup in that entry level car, compared with the coming Prius Two, and with all but the highest trim level Prius C.

Scions have always been well equipped, with very little in the way of factory options. The base Yaris is a better comparison on what is base infotainment from Toyota.

I know it's not gonna happen, but as far as I'm concerned, they could drop-kick all the infotainment interactive touch-screens off the end of the driveway, wouldn't miss it. And I'd love to see some tactile old-school knobs and sliders for the temperature, ventilation mode and fan speed.

We were walking the dog this AM, past a nursing home where a lot of the workers don't have that much to spend on cars I guess. I like the look of their dashes, just knobs and sliders: works, pretty bullet-proof, you can make adjustments without taking your eyes off the road.

So on an unrelated note, the only other Stephane from Quebec that I know of is Stefie Shock. If you're him, I'll be needing an autograph... :)

I agree, the Prius I had this and it is so much nicer to use. Except for the fact that then you can't have the same controls on the steering wheel (which I like)
